@Niflheimm155983@ezequiel51_ Maybe in the more literal and loose sense, but what I meant more specifically is gameplay designed indirectly -- the player gets through obstacles in ways not predicted by the developers. People meme about box stacking, but for a good reason as it's a great example of this.
@Niflheimm155983@ezequiel51_ Dusk has some imsim elements, yeah, but there are pretty minor and most of the game is a regular retro fps

@ezequiel51_ To me an immersive sim is a game creating a simulation with consistent mechanics and systems that make emergent gameplay on its own with minimal scripting, which also serves to immerse the player into the game's world and suspend disbelief.
@ezequiel51_@Executor250624 Yeah, when talking about Prey you can't just take playstyles or mechanics in a vacuum and seperate them. For example, even with no stealth perks you'll always be sneaking to an extent -- it's a part of a bigger combat system rather than a completely different playstyle.

@ezequiel51_ Thief is obviously the game with the most laser focused playstyle among immersive sims though, especially on higher difficulties where combat or killing are just forbidden.
@ezequiel51_ Immersive sims don't even necessarily need to support multiple playstyles. Even in the ones where there are different playstyles one can be way more viable than the other, like in new Deus Exes where stealth is favoured much more than open combat.
@itsmebelb Dishonored 2 is harder, but still not much difficult, so the hardest is the best. There are also a few interesting harder settings available only when selecting custom difficulty.
@FuckKoroks They're costing so much cause the studios have hundreds of employees earning California wages for games that take at least 5 years to make.
@venya818@Niflheimm155983 That's ignoring every spell in the game which have dozens of usabilities in stealth alone, level layouts, ways you can quietly dispatch enemies and everything about movement. Hiding in shadows wouldn't even fit the game at all as it's too fast paced for that.
@Executor250624@premiumg98@Niflheimm155983 I was surprised by how much I liked it lol. It's worth trying for sure, especially with how little stealth games there are now.
@Executor250624@premiumg98@Niflheimm155983 What's also the issue is how much the levels there feel like literal corridors. I mean, I don't dislike these games, but I was kinda disappointed. Chaos Theory was muxh better, tho.
@Executor250624@premiumg98@Niflheimm155983 shoot the oil tank on the other side through a small hole just nedt to the Wall of Light, which felt brilliant to figure out while being very limiting. You can definetly overdo it though in a stealth game, and that's my problem with SC1-2.
