@ontologoff I taught primary age children with selective mutism. They occasionally and tentatively spoke to or with their peers, then nothing for days or weeks. A couple of my classes were collectively protective and equally delighted to sensitively report any conversation.

@SBarrettBar It's the school holidays. The commuter traffic in and around Greater Manchester is so much less than normal. Most wouldn't have wanted the hassle of applying for the postal vote so they shrugged and flew to the Med instead. Mandatory voting by any means needed.

@PolitlcsUK School holidays, either first or second week depending on local authority/academy arrangements. Few would bother to apply for a postal vote, unless civically minded. I voted yesterday - I felt sorry for the local staff with so little to do across the day.
