Well, if there's any misinformation, it originated from your boss. In a speech by the Minister of Housing on 8 February 2024:
1. He stated that 2,500 housing units in Lagos were scheduled to start alongside the ones you mentioned here. How did all the other projects begin except for Lagos? Did the minister announce the scheduling even though it was not ready to start, and funding isnโt forthcoming? What would you call that in your language?
2. He also stated that the 2,500 units in Lagos are part of the 6,000 units under the 2023 supplementary budget. This directly contradicts your claim that the Lagos project is not under the 2023 supplementary budget. Was the minister misinforming, or do you know better than he does? If the Lagos units are supposedly for developers with unencumbered land and funds to build houses, why are they mentioned in the minister's speech and included in the supplementary budget? Is the minister just trying to take credit for something the government has no role in and didnโt even start?
The speech in which the minister made the above points is published on the Ministryโs website here: [https://t.co/9c1DapIcHO]. You should have verified this or removed it before making your statements.
Finally, itโs disappointing that you and your bosses are so quick to play the ethnic card to divide and silence people whenever youโre called out. How is it tribal to point out that the Federal Government is building 5,000 units in Lagos while only 1,000 in Kano and 500 in other states? Seriously, grow up.
