I finally believe Argentina always find the easiest route to progress in the World Cup, and VAR made it obvious tonight.

Thank God VAR didn’t exist in our era. Look at the beautiful run from Hassan and Salah to create that chance - where was the referee then? Was the whistle missing from his hands? He only woke up after they scored.

You could see the reaction from FIFA President Gianni Infantino. I guess he wished he could reverse the second goal by Zizo.

Ada cerita yang tidak dimulai dari seorang anak. Cerita ini dimulai dari seorang ayah.

Tahun 1997. Di tengah dominasi Brasil yang diperkuat Ronaldo, Romário, Roberto Carlos, dan deretan bintang lainnya, seorang gelandang Norwegia bernama Alf-Inge Haaland ikut mengantarkan negaranya menaklukkan sang raksasa.

Itu seharusnya menjadi awal dari perjalanan yang lebih besar. Namun hidup memilih jalan lain.

Cedera lutut merenggut masa depannya di lapangan. Karier yang menjanjikan berhenti sebelum mencapai puncaknya. Alf-Inge kembali ke Bryne, kota kecil di pesisir Norwegia yang lebih akrab dengan hujan, ladang, dan angin Laut Utara daripada gemerlap sepak bola dunia.

Yang tersisa hanyalah mimpi yang belum selesai.

Tiga tahun berselang, lahirlah seorang anak bernama Erling Haaland. Ia tumbuh di tempat yang nyaris tak pernah dilirik dunia. Berlatih di tengah cuaca dingin, mengejar bola melawan embusan angin, sambil mendengar kisah tentang generasi Norwegia yang pernah membuat dunia terkejut.

Di New Jersey, semua penantian itu mencapai puncaknya.

Erling mencetak dua gol ke gawang Brasil—sebuah sundulan yang menghantam harapan lawan dan sebuah penyelesaian kaki kiri yang memastikan kemenangan. Norwegia melaju ke perempat final Piala Dunia, sementara Haaland menutup pertandingan dengan koleksi tujuh gol sepanjang turnamen.

Lebih dari sekadar kemenangan, malam itu juga mengukuhkan namanya dalam sejarah. Ia menjadi pemain keenam yang mampu mencapai 50 gol bersama tim nasional dalam kurang dari 50 pertandingan.
