The Eastern Region did not exist as a distinct political unit until 1939, when British Governor Bernard Bourdillon split the Southern Provinces into the Eastern and Western Regions, grouping the Igbo with the minority peoples of Calabar, Ogoja and Rivers for administrative convenience.
Those minorities had already begun agitating against political dominance well before independence. Their case was examined by the Willink Commission of 1957–58, which documented their fears but stopped short of recommending separate states at the time. The same grievance resurfaced in February 1966, when Isaac Adaka Boro declared the short-lived Niger Delta Republic, months before the Civil War began.

I started testing it directly on the face of a person with a visual impairment to see how it would work in real life👓
