Birthdays may not be your thing, but as your son, I can’t let the day go by without celebrating you and letting the world know how incredible you are. Allah ya kara daukaka da tsawon kwana. Amin
At the 9th session of State Executive Council meeting, we approved a comprehensive portfolio of projects spanning road infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, education, religious institutions and public infrastructure protection.
These approvals underscore our determination to accelerate development across Sokoto State, improve access to essential services and address the infrastructure needs of our communities. From the construction of new roads and the rehabilitation of existing networks to the provision of 200 solar-powered boreholes across all 23 Local Government Areas, we are strengthening the foundations of sustainable development.
Our investments in healthcare will support the renovation and completion of hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, while interventions in the education sector will improve learning environments and provide essential teaching and learning equipment. We have also approved projects to improve religious infrastructure and strengthen the protection of government assets.
Our development agenda is guided by a clear commitment to purposeful governance, equitable development and measurable improvements in the lives of our people. We will continue to pursue projects that respond to the needs of our citizens, strengthen public institutions and position Sokoto State for sustainable growth and prosperity. -AAS
I joined other dignitaries and Muslim faithful in Tudun Wada, Sokoto South, to pay my final respects to the late Deputy Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Dr. Muhammad Idris.
His passing is a profound loss to his family, Sokoto State and the nation, given his invaluable contributions to national service. I pray Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of other departed compatriots. May Allah grant all the deceased eternal rest and grant their bereaved families the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses. Ameen. -AAS
We are committed to supporting the 76 verified victims of the recent fire incidents at Sokoto Old Market and Central Motor Park, helping them rebuild their livelihoods and resume their economic activities.
Following a thorough review of the committee’s report, we will consider its recommendations and take appropriate measures to support the affected persons while strengthening fire prevention mechanisms to forestall future occurrences.

Yesterday, I joined Nigeria’s First Lady, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu, CON, alongside other State First Ladies and distinguished women leaders at the Women Stakeholders Mobilisation and Empowerment Campaign Rollout 2026, organised under the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Women Mobilisation Directorate.
Speaking at the event, I called on all stakeholders to remain committed to ensuring the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
The programme was themed: “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reform to Prosperity — One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
Sokoto State was well represented at the event by a strong and formidable delegation.
At the meeting of the Sokoto State Executive Council, I reaffirmed our administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring lasting peace and security across the state.
We will remain relentless in confronting banditry until our communities are safe and our displaced citizens can return, with dignity, to their ancestral homes. Our strengthened collaboration with security agencies is already yielding tangible results, including recent operations in Rabah, Tureta and Kebbe that led to the rescue of victims and the recovery of thousands of rustled livestock.
We will continue to provide our security agencies with the support and equipment required to sustain these gains, while advancing our 9-Point Agenda and delivering meaningful development across Sokoto.
Our vision remains clear: a safer, stronger and more prosperous New Sokoto that future generations will be proud to inherit. -AAS
I joined the former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and his family in mourning the passing of his maternal aunt, Hajiya Rakkiya Jibrin, who died at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness.
Together with our leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, we paid a condolence visit to the Yari family in Talata Mafara, where we conveyed our deepest sympathies and shared in their grief at this difficult moment.
Hajiya Rakkiya’s passing is a painful loss to her family and loved ones. I pray that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, and give Senator Yari and the entire family the strength and fortitude to bear this loss.
May Allah reward her good deeds and grant the family comfort and patience. Amin. -AAS
