ISA, in collaboration with @IntellecapTweet, is hosting the grand finale workshop and pitch session for the SolarX Startup Challenge 2023: Africa winners. ☀️
The SolarX Startup Challenge is one of ISA’s flagship initiatives, providing invaluable acceleration and investment support to startups, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the solar sector. The Grand Finale Grand Finale Workshop and Pitch Session promises to take this mission to new heights with a two-part event that’s all about growth, strategy, and impact:
✨ Accelerator Workshop: Startups will participate in an intensive workshop designed to equip them with the tools and strategies needed to scale their businesses. The session will focus on creating a clear roadmap for expansion while ensuring these startups are prepared to deliver maximum value to investors and achieve sustainable growth.
⚡ Pitch-athon Session: The startups will deliver pitches to a diverse group of investors. This high-stakes pitch session offers a prime opportunity for these innovators to secure the investments that will fuel their expansion and drive real impact across the African solar landscape.
Stay tuned for more updates! ✨
I'll add two points Ryan's pro $ETH arguments:
First, $SOL proponents like to reflect upon current "adoption" metrics that demonstrate Solana is catching up, and perhaps even surpassing, Ethereum in some areas. These are highly dubious claims. Are you really going to call Beanie Babies (memecoins), MEV extraction, and TPS meaningful metrics of real-world adoption? I posit that the "real world" has yet to even arrive on blockchains, and when they do, they won't be evaluating them on Kyle's favorite axes.
Second, and I repeat this point, the "real world" has yet to arrive. When they do, I suspect they are going to care more about bandwidth, security, ecosystem, and platform neutrality than TPS and memecoins. These are properties of prior platform network effect champions and are areas in which Ethereum is absolutely murdering the field, including $BTC. Anecdotally, we see this to be true already. Institutions are *deploying* on Ethereum, yet only *experimenting* on other chains.
I highly recommend examining the reasoning capabilities and research diligence of our crypto thought leaders when receiving their advice. Most of these people are one-shot wonders who YOLO'd investor money into a lottery and confuse survivor bias with acumen. Step back through their deductions and you'll find yourself swimming in a pond of fallacy, negligence, and hopium.
Ethereum has gotten stronger:
* Under $0.01 txfees on L2
* Two EVM L2s (@Optimism@arbitrum) now at stage 1
* Cross-L2 wallet UX has improved a lot (eg. no more manually switching networks), though still a long way to go
* Much more powerful and mature ZK tooling making life easier for app builders
* Starting to see second-generation privacy tools (eg. @0xbowio )
* Identity/reputation/credentials ecosystem much more powerful, and starting to actually be used more and more
* Progress on STARKs leads to much clearer long-term security and decentralization story
* Much more clarity on account abstraction roadmap
* Much more clarity on block construction endgame (it seems to be down to FOCIL + APS vs multi-proposer)
* Staking decentralization stable (see comparison charts below, the "PoS is more centralized than PoW" line has proven completely false)
The fundamentals for Ethereum are actually crazy strong right now.
