I had an opportunity be part of the 2023 activist lab, where African youth discussed a lot about climate justice. I with other brilliant leaders from Kenya and ๐ฟ๐ผ blessed the @AhrnFoundation pannel whose theme was to converse about various climate justice advocacy challenges.
We delved into the world of COP negotiations on day 4 with an enlightening presentation by @KivuyoLaurel , @SAYoF_SADC youth climate justice envoy. Who shared key insights on the significance of COP meetings and how they shape global climate policies. From stakeholder participation to consensus-building, we explored the challenges and successes of these crucial negotiations.
Laurel emphasized the pivotal role of youth in driving climate justice action. As the SADC envoy, she highlighted the importance of our unique perspectives and innovative ideas in influencing decision-making processes. Our voices matter, and together we can make a difference!
The session sparked engaging discussions among participants, who eagerly shared their thoughts on COP's effectiveness in achieving climate justice. Inspired and equipped with new knowledge, we're ready to contribute to global climate justice efforts and advocate for change in our communities and beyond.
