ប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារ បានលាតសន្ធឹងយ៉ាងធំស្កឹមស្កៃ​ ប្រៀបដូចជាសំពៅនៅមហាសមុទ្រ​ ឈរបង្អួតសម្រស់ដ៏ល្អល្អះនៅលើកំពូលភ្នំ ។ ប្រាសាទនេះបានកសាងនៅក្នុងភូមិសាស្រ្តភ្នំដងរែក​ ខេត្តព្រះវិហារ​ ភាគខាងជេីងនៃប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ​ដោយឧទ្ទិសថ្វាយដល់ព្រះអាទិទេពភ្នំ គឺ "សិខរិស្វរ និងភទ្រស្វរ" ដោយព្រះអង្គម្ចាស់ ឥន្ទ្រាយុទ្ធ ដែលជាបុត្ររបស់ព្រះបាទជ័យវរ្ម័នទី២ បាននាំសិវសិង្គ ស្រីសិខរិស្វរ ពីលិង្គបុរី (វត្តភូ) មកតម្កល់លើភ្នំព្រះវិហារ ហើយប្រាសាទត្រូវបានសាងសង់ដោយបុព្វបុរសខ្មែរ​ ជាអតីតក្សត្រ ចំនួន ៨ព្រះ���ង្គ។

Celebrating the 18th anniversary of Preah Vihear Temple’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List (7 July 2008 - 7 July 2026)

Stretching widely like a ship on the ocean, Preah Vihear Temple stands proudly atop a mountain peak, offering a majestic landscape. Located in Preah Vihear Province in northern Cambodia, the temple was constructed within the Dangrek mountain range and is dedicated to the mountain gods “Shikhareshvara and Bhadresvara.” It was erected by Prince Indrayadha, the son of King Jayavarman II, who brought Shivasingh and Sri Shikhareshvara from Linga Borei (Wat Phou) to be enshrined on Preah Vihear Mountain. The temple was built by eight Khmer ancestors, all of whom were former kings.

The ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) under the Philippine Chairmanship, was on a field mission, to observe, verify, and report on the border situation at the An Ses Border Checkpoint, Choam Ksan District, Preah Vihear Province. This area was subjected to incursions, the installation of barbed wire, and the illegal deployment of shipping containers by the Thai military.
