In his final year at McGill (1995–1999), CZ worked with Prof. Cooperstock on an AI project related to RoboCup, where one of the teams used Sony’s AIBO robots.
CZ is right. There's been a lot of misinformation about the dogs supposedly mentioned in his memoir.
But here's something I actually found in Freedom of Money. 🐶🤖
Page 42, Chapter 5.
While recalling his university years at McGill (1995–1999), CZ mentioned Sony's AIBO robot dogs competing in RoboCup.
AIBO was introduced in 1999, long before Bitcoin, BNB, or today's AI boom.
Interestingly, CZ's own team competed in the AI simulation league, not the robot dog competition.
Almost 30 years later, that little piece of AI history is getting attention again.
No rumors. No invented connections. Just a story from his book.
@cz_binance, do you still remember those RoboCup days with Professor Cooperstock? 🐾
@creptosolutions Don't have Shiba Inu, never did. No idea who/what Riki is. I generally won't respond to these types of questions. Too much wrong info to correct.
Broccoli is a real dog.
AIBO is a robot dog.
One became famous through @cz_binance's posts.
The other showed up in his memoir.
Imagine these two meeting for the first time.
Broccoli: Woof!
AIBO: Processing... 🤖
Who would win a race? 🐶
In 1999, Sony launched the first AIBO.
3,000 units sold out in Japan in just 20 minutes.
And this was before smartphones, social media, or today's AI hype.
People were already falling in love with robot dogs.

AIBO isn't just a random name.
It comes from Artificial Intelligence Robot.
And in Japanese, “aibō” (相棒) means companion or partner.
An AI robot designed to be your friend.
Not your trading bot.
Not your financial advisor.
Just a little dog trying to make friends on @BNBCHAIN

AIBO is built with the community in mind.
Every buy and sell comes with a 2% tax, designed to reward holders and gradually reduce supply.
Here's how it works:
🔥 20% of the collected fees are used to burn AIBO tokens.
🎁 80% of the collected fees are distributed to eligible AIBO holders in BNCB.
No complicated promises. Just a simple mechanism that gives back to the community.
AIBO's story began in 1999. Now we're writing its next chapter together. 🐾🤖
Keep building!
AIBO was born in 1999.
Bitcoin arrived in 2009.
BNB arrived in 2017.
This little robot dog has seen almost three decades of technology come and go.
He survived the dot-com era, the birth of crypto, and the AI revolution.
Now he's discovering BNB Chain.
Not bad for an old dog. 🐶
