[SECURITY UPDATE]
After a thorough review, we traced the flagged dependency chain in our project:
@omnisat/lasereyes-core
└─ @oyl/sdk
└─ nice-repl (not actually invoked by oyl)
└─ local-repl
└─ read-pkg → load-json-file → parse-json → error-ex
Our findings:
Some of these dependencies do get pulled in during development workflows. However, lasereyes is a client-only library, which means none of these packages are ever shipped to, or executed in, end-user environments. As a result, they have no impact on production runtime or consumer security.
That said, dependency hygiene matters. To strengthen our supply chain posture, we are:
• Pinning all dependencies to ensure deterministic resolution
• Removing unused packages to reduce attack surface
• Continuing regular audits to maintain transparency and security
Bottom line:
while some flagged packages are present in development, they do not affect lasereyes consumers. We remain committed to handling dependency management with the same rigor as our core code.
