Come on down to the pitch to support our girls.
Maigh Cuilinn abú!
There is an Irish surgeon , Mr Morgan McMonagle in this hospital. Will the Irish government finally step up and do something ?
This hospital is being attacked as we speak. One of the surgical units are on fire.
There are healthcare workers and critically injured and ill patients as well as innocent civilians.
When are governments going to stop this slaughter ?
What a brave BOM. So many other schools on the brink of financial crisis. Fair play to them for taking a stand. Underfunding of our schools has been highlighted time and again to no avail. Wishing the best to all concerned.
Pupils will be forced to stay at home as Sacred Heart Junior School in Killinarden “no longer have money to pay basic bills” following cuts and underfunding from the Department of Education. https://t.co/QAbJuIdvkU
📣Only four days to go until our biggest fundraiser of the year! Not to be missed!
🤔 Time to get your thinking caps on for Saturday night’s Table Quiz with Quizmaster Caoimhín Davoren posing the questions ❓
🐄Draw for our locally-raised Belgian Blue on the night!
It is also worth noting that she chose to write this op-ed defending the purchase of mobile phone sleeping bags (because she thinks teachers and staff can't stop students using their phones) instead of writing one praising teachers on World Teacher Day.
An interesting choice.
@MarianHarkin Is there any update on your motion and what work is being done on it by @NormaFoleyTD1 or @1Hildegarde since it was passed unamended? We would appreciate some accountability from our Ministers.
I know it's probably how politics works and this pouch nonsense is doing a great job of distracted us all from the abject failure of the budget to address the crises in education but I think this a step too far. They have done exactly that - playing politics with children's mental health.
What hope are we to have as educators when our own government fails to listen to school principals clearly proving to them time and again that the chronic deficits in school funding, leadership and SEN supports are failing our schools and pupils? This budget is a disgrace.
Foley pushes through LC redevelopment because it sounds good and then doesn't fund it.
But she has €9 Million for mobile phone sleeping bags...

1/2 Principals from across the country sat before a cross party meeting in Leinster House in June outlining the funding, leadership & SEN crisis in our schools, appealing for awareness & assistance. Absolute shame that our information seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
I don't understand why we have to put positive spins on breadcrumbs. This has been a disasterous budget for primary education.
For example, the INTO say there has been an "uplift" of €41 per pupil in the capitation grant but this isn't exactly true (or even close to true)
There has been a 12% increase in the capitation grant which is €24.
The rest is a one-off cost of living grant, which is not the same as the capitation grant.
The IPPN has argued for a minimum of a €273 capitation grant and we are miles off that with this budget. The IPPN never go overboard with their wishes so that figure is definitely the lowest possible amount that schools need to pay all the bills.
And don't get me started on the posts of responsibility. The cut to all the posts was a recession measure. In a giveaway budget, it is unforgivable that we are still having to work under austerity conditions.
Today's #Budget2025 speeches lacked the commitments necessary to meet the challenges facing our schools. Providing a higher allocation for mobile phone pouches than the increase in primary capitation is tone deaf to the needs of primary & special schools. https://t.co/EDTLjgGk85
First off, turn down the bloody music!
Come on, I've been advising you for years.
You're better than this.
Secondly, yes, you are redeveloping education in a dramatic way; you're opening the door to 40% of the Leaving Cert being completed by AI.
Now that's revolutionary.
