Thank you @adriennemaree@MorganJerkins @KieseLaymon @blackpotmojo and the @grist team for believing in this lil bit of magic. It's such an honor to be published as part of the winning #Imagine2200 collection. The illustrations, audiobook and accompanying interview are all beaut!
Behold, the whole-ass iambic pentameter-ass Elizabethan Sonnet I wrote for the top of episode 9 of #FeyandFlowers#ACoFaF
I hope my high school English teacher is proud of me 😤
As someone who has been joking about tearing out my skeleton for as long as I've had a sense of humor, I find #NoBonesDay almost misses the point. Yeah, an old pug at rest is sweet, but what if I could *stop having* bones when they hurt? >,<

Every day is a good day to share this 1999 letter from @ursulaleguin to Michael Powell in support of a unionized @Powells Books, but today is her birthday, so all the more reason. Happy birthday, Ursula ❤️
We would also like to congratulate & thank our two finalists, @AilbhePascal and @briantrantho, who both submitted stellar projects that were unlike anything we have read before. We can't wait to have your books on our shelf!
Still reeling from being included in this collection + going to use this post as a thread when I'm ready to share words on all the other amazing #Imagine2200 works.
Imagine 2200: Fix’s climate fiction collection is here! Immerse yourself in 12 hope-filled stories of abundance, adaptation, and progress. https://t.co/ZCIJc8BcKy
Next up, I read "Afterglow," by Lindsey Brodeck. For stretches of this story, I forgot that it takes place in the future. Colonialism, but let's make it space (and be wary AF), and a beekeeper on earth who sounds just like a friend I know today.

It's vulnerable for writers to admit that we can't possibly know everything (thank you for this tender tweet I've been thinking about all week, @tehnuka). And also sensitivity readers should be paid well by, and in positions of power at, the publications that take on our stories.
Canvas - Wax -Moon By @AilbhePascal is another #ClimateFiction story that IMO broadens the genre.
This #Wiccan#lunarpunk story shows a family coming together to provide support to its witching-hour baby when they need it most.

Yaaa, shukran jazilan @LaraSawalha! Your reading of "Canvas - Wax - Moon" was generous of spirit. Thank you for the love you put on Jidda Warda's lines, and for laughing like the laughter was true. #Accessible#storytelling should always be so enjoyable.

@torystephens@SFdirewolf@curioio This really meant to the world to me and my community -- so many of my loved ones were able to participate in the #Imagine2200 release on Tuesday because of these audio recordings. Thank you for doing this work! 🙏🏼
@zteirstein aye, what is climate change if not a radical need to change how we relate to our bodies (incl. earth as part of our bodies)? so grateful for your coverage on sickness.
Oh hey! I published a story with @grist -- and was a finalist for their Imagine 2200 Climate Fiction award. I'll make a fancier post when materials are in, but omg, check out the illustrations by @RebekkaDunlap and the audiobook from Curio. aaaaaah!

@RebekkaDunlap@grist@RebekkaDunlap thank you for centering Mellie--she's the heart of the story in so many ways. Her braids, hearth and telescope were there in my mind and you picked it up!! Such an honor to see the scene come to life in your style.
@torystephens Ya salaam, this is so powerful to read. I know I write about the future to live for it, but to take on this whole project the way you did--what a lift, and what a gift.
