@salltweets@JuliaGillard I had high hopes for woman in politics, especially female leaders. But the New Zealand, Australian and Scottish ladies in particular all turned out to be utter duds. An affront to womens rights and women in general. Unforgivable.
So the Treasury’s “flagship” Isa raid is now in limbo because a 1p wheeze threatens to blow up Rachel Reeves’ entire reform package – and we only know that because the Telegraph did the Treasury’s homework for it.
Only this Government could design a scheme that slashes cash Isa limits for under‑65s from £20,000 to £12,000 from 2027, while simultaneously leaving a schoolboy loophole big enough for any half‑awake saver to drive through.
The uncomfortable truth is that if the Telegraph hadn’t published the 1p trick, these people were perfectly capable of sleepwalking the defective rules into law, then blaming “abuse” by the public later.
In other words, a newspaper has just rescued the Treasury from its own incompetence – and the political class is sulking not because the loophole exists, but because they were caught before they could quietly weaponise it against ordinary savers.
@thecoastguy They predict future wars will be over water. Looking at how much clean H20 these data centres require, I now understand. Managed water consumption (and electricity and gas) coming to a street near you.
My word. This is incredible. A real-life version of that scene from The Life of Brian: "Stan, you haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!"

Dr. Peter Glidden: "A 12 year worldwide meta-analysis study revealed Chemotherapy has a 97% FAILURE RATE."
"So why is it still used?"
"It's one reason & one reason only...MONEY."
