3 big lies we often believe:
I am what I HAVE
I am what I DO
I am what OTHERS say/think about me
-Henri Nouwen
The Gospel offers rest, peace, unswerving security in Christ, as a gift, now & forevermore! We have EVERYTHING in Christ!
The thing that drew me to faith in Jesus was not the promise of a better life but a conviction of my own sin and the need for forgiveness.
What I received from Him was not just forgiveness, but overwhelming love.
Thinking about that today.
Politicians on all sides are dealing with incredibly difficult decisions – let’s pray for them. Let’s pray too for the most vulnerable in our society, whose lives will be shaped for better or worse: we must not forget them. May we stay rooted in compassion, solidarity and hope.
If you are walking in darkness today, this is a reminder: you are loved. You are precious. You have value. Sometimes we need others to believe this for us. I believe it for you today, and pray you come to believe it too.

Jesus help me not to rush so much today that I forget all the people you place around me from cabbies to waitresses to whatever as having been created in your image and worthy of encouragement & affirmation
"Sometimes God is confidently quiet. He doesn't give us more explanations. He knows we don't need more words of instruction. The moment we take even a tiny shuffle forward, what God is already thinking is this:
I love you. You've got this. You know enough."
Going to try and embrace true rest for 2 weeks and am turning my phone off....will I cope??! Got a feeling I will discover lost experiences as I lift my eyes from a screen. Checking out for 2 weeks! #phonedetox
‘Nothing in life is more liberating than to fight for a cause larger than yourself, something that encompasses you, but is not defined by your existence alone.’

My only issue with our reading of the book of Ruth is that we make romance the motive for redemption. Boaz provided for the poor, welcomed the widow and served the hungry at his table. Boaz followed God’s concern before his own.
I cannot believe how powerful thankfulness is, when anxiety starts to strangle my soul. Bit by bit the grip loosenes. And my futile attempt to "control" melt away as His Kingdom replaces my kingdom.
Phil 4:6 works
For all those finding life tough today, I just want to remind you that it’s OK not to be OK. That vulnerability is an opportunity to deepen true friendship and elicit divine grace.
