@AlanCarson15@OrthopodReg Dentists who go on to study Medicine will need to complete FY and gain GMC registration and then have the choice of ST1 or CST then ST3
@AlanCarson15@OrthopodReg Medics usually study for their dental degree post FY or CST, meaning options for ST1 or ST3 entry, but we are sadly an under-recruited speciality for multiple reasons.
@AlanCarson15@OrthopodReg you need to hold both degrees to be eligible at ST1 or ST3 level, but ST1 means many good applicants don't have to suffer through CST application (many have worked multiple years as SHOs already), hence ST1 being expanded.
@AlanCarson15@OrthopodReg we still have majority ST3 entry and are the only underfilled surgical speciality, likely due to our need for dual qualification. ST1 has proved so popular they've increased places to help with our recruitment challenges. Early career Docs should consider OMFS :)
I really enjoyed this paper. I can really recommend having a glass of wine and reading the first half as if the anatomists in question are in a sassy soap opera.

@julcat365@orthohand@DrEilidhMaria@mrjamesob Please be a little careful of false equivalence, Dental Theapists are trained professionals, GDC regulated with a very clear scope of practice. They are not like PAs and do a valuable job delivering dental care.
Having spent decades struggling to remember stuff from text books, I wish upon a star for a text book aimed specifically at my brain... Wish I'd known this year's ago.
@Abi_Rimmer I look forward to reading this, there's so much more subtley than declining tasks in the moment. It's the slow erosion of our work-life balance, until you get to the point where you don't know how to get it back.
@OrthopodReg When speaking of sexual assault I would say the adjective "shit" may even be putting it mildly and that you showed great restraint. I commend you on your professionalism.
As someone who did 3yrs BSc (Biomed) 4yrs BMBS (Medicine) to be medically educated, to be a doctor, this is concerning. My BSc was great but no replacement for medical school, which was tough in 4yrs. 2yr course is NOT equivalent as being implied here.
Leaders of @FPARCP again comparing PA studies to a medical degree…
Presentation given to hospital managers to encourage them to employ PAs
Is this appropriate for an arm of @RCPhysicians?
Doctors are being replaced

Speaking to my in laws this weekend- they asked why I'm striking, they said I'm not a junior doctor. They wouldn't believe that aged 38, with 3 bachelors degrees (BSc BMBS BDS) >11years qualified in Medicine, working as a Registrar in OMFS, I am very much still a junior doctor.
