I grew up 1 of 5. We didn’t have a ton of money, didn’t do a lot of the extracurriculars, my parents didn’t pay for college or buy us cars. But there is no world in which I would choose any of that over having my siblings. Besides my husband and children, they are the best parts of my life.
God is good if he gives you 3 kids in 4 years.
He’s also good if he gives you 2 in 18 years.
He’s also good if you have a bunch of babies waiting for you in heaven.
He’s also good if you have no babies.
God’s goodness is not based on what He does or does not do for you.
@emilykmay Or it’s real and be misused as an “excuse” at the same time. Don’t reinforce the idea that addictions = excuses. Porn addiction can be called by name and also not excused/normalized/rationalized. I think your problem is with the latter issue not the label.
@WifeMamaHome Same. I threw up prenatal vitamins and lost weight. Babies will take what they need. Makes you feel worse but genetics is absolutely more important
@ostrachan@EvangelicalDW Great post. Not to mention the ways that college education & work experience can spill over into service in different seasons of life. There are many times I look back and see a tiny sliver of God’s incomprehensible orchestration of all things!
@rebeccarightnow@emilykmay Lots of SAHMs/wives build businesses. And I’m all for it, I just don’t like the double standard of the “working woman/girl boss” v “home”. In faith communities like with ABS the discourse should be what are the priorities/does the job fit not which jobs are ok and which aren’t.
@rebeccarightnow@emilykmay I think it’s more. It isn’t visible. Some are accountants, some are running the contracting business their husband is the face/hands of. It appears to “fit” more by being in the home. Trad wife influencers too. Paid/videoed but not as visible outside.
The Carney Liberals did not win a majority government through a general election or today's by-elections. Instead, it was won through backroom deals with politicians who betrayed the people who voted for them.
While the Prime Minister spent the year on this cynical power grab, he has doubled the deficit, and given Canada the worst grocery prices and housing costs in the G7.
Liberals expect Canadians to give up, get complacent and go away, so Carney can have total power without any accountability. That will not happen. Our country and its people are worth fighting for.
We will continue to fight for people to afford homes, food and fuel.
We will continue to fight for safety in our streets.
We will continue to fight for our resource workers and soldiers.
I will continue to lead that fight every day and in every way in Parliament, across the country and in the next election, when Canadians will reclaim the country we know and love.
There is a great gulf between the Christianity that wrestles with whether to worship at the cost of imprisonment and death, and the Christianity that wrestles with whether the kids should play soccer on Sunday morning.

@kinsellawarren As someone in her riding, there’s a general sense of betrayal and shock about the $/riding. “I will be measuring it, truly, in dollars and cents, and support that we get for the riding, my own personal satisfaction in the role and the results for the country.”
Liberals will say they are one big, broad tent. But tents have stakes in the ground that don’t move.
What the Liberal Party actually is, in fact, is a bedsheet, tenuously tied to a flagpole, flapping in whichever direction the wind happens to be blowing https://t.co/nrAH7rUHsF
