If you have a problem with migrant workers, or anyone for that matter, celebrating World Cup joy, that's really a you problem. Take your miserable xenophobia and hole yourselves up.
Intentional homicide of an infant = 5 years in jail?! This case is so messed up, rape, murder... & these people are going to be walking among us in 3 years. With no rehabilitation or reform.. God help us!
Catch Legal Director @ahmedmauruf and myself on tonight’s #FalaSurukhee for more information on the work of MDP’s legal team and the preparations for #JobBuraasfathi
while the @PGO_MV has gathered enough evidence to file criminal charges against a current sitting councilor, they found no grounds to prosecute Fenaka MD Afeef following the ACC’s corruption investigation.
dhaulathah gellunvanee meehun muzaaharaa kureema 🤔
Isn’t this the same guy who backed independent candidates against our candidates in the #LCE2026?
Complaints were submitted. No action was taken against him.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s message to the court today as relayed by his attorney:
“I am a pediatrician. I provide medical care to patients, the injured, and vulnerable people in the Gaza Strip. I have carried out my work in accordance with international law and humanitarian standards. My detention is unjust and arbitrary.”
So let me get this straight: Russia is banned from playing in FIFA because of their invasion of Ukraine, but Israel can play in FIFA despite their ongoing slaughter of Palestinians?
Right makes sense
What has happened at the #2026WorldCup over the last 48 hours:
• Swiss footballer Embolo's visa was put under review and he was only able to join his team days later.
• Iraqi national team player Aymen Hussein was held for questioning for nearly 7 hours upon entering the United States.
• The Iranian national team spent days dealing with visa procedures at the U.S. Consulate in Türkiye. The U.S. only allowed them entry on match days. Fifteen members of the delegation were denied visas.
• Omar Abdulkadir Artan, named CAF's Best African Referee of 2025, was denied a visa. Despite travelling to the U.S. with a diplomatic passport, he was refused entry and sent back. FIFA announced that he will not be able to officiate at the tournament.
• The South African national team arrived in the United States much later than planned because part of the delegation was not granted visas.
• Members of the Senegal national team staff were forced to remove their shoes and subjected to lengthy searches, sparking accusations of racism.
• The Uzbekistan national team was searched with bomb-sniffing dogs and the footage went viral in international media.
• Some Scottish supporters, despite being eligible to enter the U.S. visa-free under the ESTA programme, had their travel authorisations revoked just days before departure.
• Many supporters who had already bought tickets and booked accommodation had their visa applications rejected, resulting in financial losses.
Omar Abdulkadir Artan was voted the best African referee of 2025.
He was selected by @FIFAWorldCup to referee the World Cup.
America deported him and killed his dream.
Why? Because he’s Somalian.
Worst World Cup in history.
We will be taking these cases to the Employment Tribunal. Unfair dismissals are a breach of our Constitutional Human Rights.

My father has always been a supporter of @MDPSecretariat. He was recently appointed as MTSB Director after an interview process, based on his aviation experience, with no condition to support PNC. He would not have accepted the role otherwise.
