I had the honor of seeing the premiere of @AintNoBackFilm last night, a documentary about Howard U students organizing to integrate @glenechopark in 1960. Proud that my stepfather joined them (& was arrested with them, protesting injustice). Lots of lessons for today.

Our film gets its title from this incredible poem by Langston Hughes. Hughes published Merry-Go-Round in 1942, but it was still true in 1960 when Howard students tried to ride the carousel at Glen Echo Amusement Park.
