@RodKahx You misunderstand their role. Trump would never have invited them if there were any chance they would disrupt the basic concept of land for peace. They are there to provide a guarantee that whatever arrangement is agreed upon by Putin and Zelensky will be staunchly enforced.
@MTW2478 The EUs role will be to assure they will backstop with a bright line any territorial changes that Ukraine agrees to as part of a peace deal and not to prevent Ukraine from making those land for peace trades in the first place.Trump would never allow the EU to intervene like that.
@myabradshaw78 Trudeau was a clown so derision was aimed at him alone, with Canada retaining some international dignity. Carney, with a few fell swoops, has exposed us as a country led by a pathetic, grovelling PM who has left us isolated on the world stage in trade and foreign affairs.
@MarkJCarney I would have to try very hard to find a politician who has such a disconnect between the game he talks and the actual progress made on shovel ready projects. These repetitive little pep talks void of substance are getting quite tiresome.
@KnightLegg And sadly for Canada and it’s stature amongst leading world countries, not only were we late to the game, we weren’t even invited. Carney’s has made an embarrassment of us all.
@alanfryermedia I would have some empathy for Carney’s multiple humiliations on the world stage but for his hubris and arrogance. His fall from elbows up to grovelling for relevance following the EU snub is quite pointed in light of the supposed new EU trade and defence deals he recently touted.
@rita_rewerts@maxfawcett Now imagine the benefit if more pipelines had been built under a less stifling, costly regulatory environment. More revenue with less input costs equals economic windfall for Canada. But instead we chose to keep our oil and gas in the ground and let other countries fill the gap.
@sunlorrie Elbows up is synonymous with liberals gullible enough to think US tanks would be rumbling up and down Yonge Street but for Mark Carney being the only one who could handle Trump in the crisis of a lifetime. It will remain a timeless symbol of hubris, arrogance, and gullibility.
@Jill1Sweden Your sentiments are true of Mark Carney as well. Elitist white women, living in well to do crime free neighbourhoods, with kids at private schools, and economically insulated from the financial consequences of Carney’s green agenda, are a large part of his base.
@Jill1Sweden They take the blame for electing Carney who has antagonized Trump from the beginning to the point Trump doesn’t even take his calls, and for his poor judgement in foreign affairs such that Canada is now ignored on the world stage.
@kim_gaetz The degree to which Liberals are terrified of having Pollievre back in the HOC pointing out Carney’s failure to do anything he campaigned on,as well as the extent to which he has left us marginalized on the world stage, is directly proportional to the vitriol hurled at Pollievre.
@myabradshaw78 Mark Carney is the most irrelevant politician in the world right now.Trump won’t take his phone calls and despite his efforts to stick his nose into everyone else’s business, and claims to be building new trade and defence relationships with the EU,he is being completely ignored.
@acoyne Mark Carney is the most irrelevant politician in the world right now.Trump won’t take his phone calls and despite his efforts to stick his nose into everyone else’s business, and claims to be building new trade and defence relationships with the EU,he is being completely ignored.
@JinglaiHe No!Dumb, dumb, dumb. Elbows up fight back has proven to be fatal to the US Canada trade talks. Trump won’t even take Carney’s phone calls, tariffs are higher than ever, and it is the USA that is establishing better trading with the EU and Mexico, not us. Disastrous strategy .
@mark_slapinski Remind me again which Canadian politician said Canada’s relationship with the USA is over and who has gone to great lengths to publicize the extent to which Canada is seeking trade partners elsewhere, even sneaking behind the USAs back with Mexico, which Mexico wisely rebuffed.
@kinsellawarren As Canada becomes marginalized on the world stage in trade and foreign affairs,Carney’s hubris and arrogance kicks in,resulting in him grasping for relevance through political statements void of merit. This brings a negative response but he would rather be yelled at than ignored.
@dkreative1@MarkJCarney@PremierScottMoe If ever there were a course taught on how to antagonize and sabotage a relationship with your most important ally, Mark Carney’s bumbling missteps with the USA would be core textbook material.
