[Defense Credit Union Council @DCUC_HQ]

September is Suicide Prevention month, and in the defense credit union space it’s even more important as Veterans are 1.5 times higher than that of the general population. But what can your credit union do?

A key step is understanding that financial stressors can be a major factor in a person having suicidal ideations or considering taking their life. A credit union, especially one that knows and understands what it is to serve, can help by offering financial guidance and support. Whether it’s helping a Veteran or servicemember regain financial stability or offering guidance to steer their financial lives forward, credit unions can play an integral role in supporting those who are in crisis. #988 #SuicidePrevention

If you are or know a Veteran in crisis, support is available. Dial 988 and press 1, text 838255 or visit https://t.co/gySbM0tPQM.
