When it comes to modesty, avoiding tabarruj, and striving to live a quiet, dignified life, I will always encourage it. As Allah is my Witness, I will continue to advise others because it is a sincere nasiḥah.
But before it is a reminder for anyone else, it is a reminder for myself.
Modesty is something I struggled with for a long time. I know what that journey looks like. So whenever I speak about it, I speak to myself first before I speak to anyone else.
Day 1/100 🌱
We’re raising funds for our 2026 Tree Planting Campaign, and this year, we’re adding a community clean-up initiative too.
Every donation helps and no amount is too small.
Can’t donate? Please repost. Sharing this with others is also a form of support and could help us reach someone who can contribute.
Together, let’s plant trees, clean our environment, and leave behind something beneficial for generations to come.

Ten Important Du’as for the Day of Arafah
Du’a for Forgiveness
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.)
Du’a for Guidance and Steadfastness
اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي
Allahumma ihdini wa saddidni.
(O Allah, guide me and keep me steadfast.)
Du’a for Jannah and Protection from Hellfire
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
Allahumma inni as’alukal Jannah wa a‘udhu bika minan-Nar.
(O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire.)
I think one of the most damaging mentalities Nigeria has conditioned many of us into is believing money is the only form of rizq and the only measure of opportunity. It isn’t.
Peace is rizq.
Good health is rizq.
Sleeping at night without anxiety is rizq.
A sound mind is rizq.
Righteous friends are rizq.
Parents that sincerely pray for you are rizq.
Siblings that genuinely love and support you are rizq.
You know, among the الكبائر (major sins) mentioned in the Qur’an, one thing that has always terrified me about zina is the way Allah warned us against it.
For so many sins, Allah says: do not do it.
Do not backbite.
Do not kill.
Do not consume usury.
Do not wrong one another.
The 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah are here, and please remember: it is not just about fasting, praying, making du’a, or posting reminders online. What beautifies and purifies your worship is abandoning sins for the sake of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and seeking His mercy sincerely.
A person can stand in prayer all night and still destroy the reward of their deeds because they refused to leave certain habits behind. So here are 10 normalized sins and bad habits we need to actively stay away from during these blessed days, and hopefully forever after them.
Stop telling “white lies.”
A lie is still a lie, even when society makes it seem harmless. Please abstain from lying, especially unnecessary lies that people have normalized for attention, validation, or image maintenance. And this is especially for people who constantly feel the need to fabricate stories online. You do not want empty fasting and empty prayers because you chose to run your mouth during sacred days. Fear Allah and protect your tongue.
Don’t be excessively talkative.
The Prophet ﷺ disliked people who spoke excessively and unnecessarily. Not every thought needs to leave your mouth. Not every opinion deserves to be shared. If what you want to say is not beneficial, remain silent. Let these 10 days teach you discipline and intentional speech.
Guard your eyes and ears.
Stay away from haram content, whether it is pornography, inappropriate entertainment, indecent music, gossip content, or endless doomscrolling. What enters your eyes affects your heart. Replace excessive social media consumption with Qur’an, dhikr, beneficial reminders, Islamic lectures, and sincere reflection.
This project will not fail. We will plant 2000 trees this year.
Please donate if you can and repost fee sabilillah 🥹 I’m seeing this project through bi’izniLlah.
A man is not permitted to force co-wives into sharing living spaces in ways that cause harm, lack of privacy, or distress. The scholars explicitly mention that a wife has the right to separate accommodation that protects her privacy and dignity.
Imam Ibn Qudamah said in Al-Mughni that a husband should not place two wives in one house without their consent because this leads to harm and jealousy between them.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
This is our Tree Planting Campaign 2026, in shaa Allah.
In 2024, by the mercy of Allah, we planted over 2,000 seedlings across northern Nigeria. This year, we are hoping to do more. Our intention is to plant 4,000 seedlings across six states, bi idhnillah.
We do not have a fixed fundraising target. We are simply asking Allah to allow us raise enough to reach this goal. No amount is too small. No amount is insignificant. What matters is sincerity and the intention behind it.
As we all know, planting trees is among the most beautiful forms of Sadaqah Jariyah. A tree that provides shade, a tree that feeds a person, an animal, or even a bird is a continuous charity for the one who planted it.
At the same time, we cannot ignore the effects of deforestation in our communities. The heat is harsher. The land is weaker. Our environment is changing in ways that affect our daily lives. This is a small effort to restore balance, to give back to the earth, and to leave behind something beneficial.
If Allah places it in your heart to give, then give. And if you are unable, then share this and make dua for us.
May Allah accept it from us, make it a source of lasting الخير, and allow it to weigh heavily on our scales on the Day we meet Him.
Barakallahu feekum.

There’s a difference between love as a feeling and love as a lived commitment, and social media has trained a lot of people to chase the performance of love rather than the substance of it.
There’s something called ribā an-nasī’ah (deferred ribā) and it seems a lot of women are ignorant of this.
Gold is classified among the ribāwī commodities, meaning its exchange is strictly regulated.
The Prophet ﷺ clearly stipulated that transactions involving gold must be
I’m going to marry him.”
But that’s not the point.
It doesn’t matter whether you intend to marry them or not. What matters is that they are non-mahram, which means boundaries are required.
Being related by blood does not automatically make interactions permissible.
You are not meant to be overly familiar, free, or casual with a non-mahram simply because they are your cousin. The ruling does not change because of culture, comfort, or how you were raised.
There is a reason marriage is allowed between cousins. That alone should make you
understand the level of distance and modesty that is required.
Allah does not place rulings without wisdom.
So no, this is not about “we grew up together” or “we’re just close.” That does not make it right.
Free mixing, over-familiarity, private conversations,
emotional closeness, these are boundaries that should not be crossed.
And this is exactly how lines get blurred. This is how inappropriate relationships start. This is how people fall into what is clearly not permissible.
Stop romanticizing it.
