My approach to Sebaashray has always been rooted in the belief that public service is not a matter of convenience, and responsibility cannot be set aside.
On Day 37, that conviction guided the work on the ground, reflecting a shared understanding that service is a duty, and it must be carried out with sincerity and care.
In Falta, and in every place Sebaashray reaches, the commitment remains the same. To serve everyone without any exclusion.
This is what continues to guide us forward, day after day, place after place with consistency, focus, and accountability.
অসুস্থতা আর নয়, আবারও নিশ্চিত করছে সেবাশ্রয়!
Illness often arrives without warning, yet its consequences are far-reaching. It disrupts livelihoods, places strain on families, and frequently forces difficult choices between medical care and everyday survival. For many, the challenge lies not only in the illness itself, but in the distance, cost, and uncertainty involved in accessing timely treatment.
Day 28 marked the conclusion of Sebaashray 2’s engagement in Bishnupur. Throughout its presence, the initiative addressed these barriers by bringing essential healthcare services directly to the community, ensuring that access to treatment did not become an additional burden.
Through medical consultations, free medicines, and timely referrals, Sebaashray reflects a core principle of governance: public systems must reduce suffering, not compound it. As Sebaashray 2 now moves onward to Satgachia, it continues with a clear commitment to support communities in times of illness and to ensure that no individual is left to navigate healthcare challenges alone.
The Election Commission was asked to bend. Instead, it is willing to crawl. Through SIR, the ECI has given form and legitimacy to BJP’s conspiracy to steal Bengal’s vote and strip people of their constitutional right.
New categories are being invented overnight to justify mass deletion of voters. Citizens who are alive, healthy, and fully accounted for are being marked as “dead. In doing so, the Commission is questioning our right to vote, our right to belong, our right to dignity, and our right to exist without suspicion.
The intent is to muzzle Bengal’s voice. But what I witnessed in Baruipur today was a thunderous, democratic roar of defiance. Thousands spoke as one, proclaiming, “Jotoi Koro Hamla, Abar Jitbe Bangla.”
Those plotting to unmap Bengal’s people from the electoral roll will soon find themselves unmapped from Bengal’s political landscape. The countdown has begun. Wait and watch.
Nothing weighs heavier on my conscience than watching people endure suffering in silence, and nothing restores my faith more than seeing that suffering recede when care finally reaches them. It is this promise of relief and dignity that Sebaashray 2 seeks to sustain.
On Day 27 of Sebaashray 2 in Bishnupur, I personally inspected every aspect of the health camp, ensuring that services were accessible, facilities responsive, and dignity upheld at every step.
From the elderly seeking reassurance, to young adults navigating uncertainty, to children arriving with quiet curiosity, each interaction was a reminder that healthcare is not merely a service, but a lifeline. Listening to them reaffirmed my belief that policy must always be shaped by lived realities.
Today, as I laid the foundation stone of Durga Angan in New Town, I was overwhelmed with a sense of elation and fulfillment. In 2021, UNESCO honoured our beloved Durga Puja with the distinguished recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, acknowledging its universal resonance as both a spiritual invocation and a cultural celebration. The ceremony reflected the true spirit of Bengal. People across faiths, castes, communities, cultures, and generations gathered in collective reverence. In this moment, I saw the essence of unity, devotion, and shared pride that defines our land. This day will be inscribed in the golden pages of Bengal’s history.
Durga Angan will be built across 17.28 acres, with a total constructed area of nearly 2,00,000 square feet. The complex is envisioned as a yearlong sacred sanctuary, open 365 days, welcoming close to one lakh visitors every day. The central courtyard will accommodate 1,000 devotees at a time, allowing prayer to unfold in a shared spiritual congregation. A 20-foot-wide circumambulatory path will be adorned with 1,008 pillars and delicately sculpted arches. The main sanctum will rise to 54 metres, echoing the architectural grandeur of our spiritual texts. In adherence to sacred tenets, 108 divine idols and 64 lion sculptures will be consecrated within the complex.
Beyond the principal mandap, the premises will include individual mandaps for the Singhadwara, the Pradakshina path, a sacred Kund, and shrines for Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikeya, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Saraswati. There will also be a dedicated space for prasad preparation and a cultural museum celebrating Bengal’s artistic and spiritual legacy. The entire temple complex will be landscaped with over 300 trees and 1,000 flowering plants. Designed as a gold-certified green building, the complex emphasises natural illumination, ventilation, and ecological balance, ensuring that divinity and nature breathe within the same sacred enclosure.
A trust has been formed under the leadership of the Chief Secretary to oversee the upkeep, preservation, and management of this spiritual precinct. This initiative will not only enrich our cultural and spiritual expanse but also strengthen local enterprise, foster employment, and amplify Bengal’s stature on the world tourism map. Durga Angan will stand as a luminous confluence of Bengal’s spirituality and culture, a testament to unity in diversity that will welcome millions from India and across the world, inviting them to witness our art, heritage, devotion, and harmony.
On the 5th of next month, I shall lay the foundation stone of the much-awaited Gangasagar Setu, and in the second week of next month, the foundation stone of the Mahakal Temple at Matigara, near Siliguri. These endeavours reaffirm our commitment to uplifting pilgrimage sites of every faith. We walk the path of unity, never division. I remain guided by the universal ideals of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, whose message of interfaith harmony lives at the core of Bengal’s soul. Every faith to me is sacred. Every community is equal. Humanity is the highest form of worship.
Saddened by the demise of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and a prominent public leader.
I extend my condolences to her family, friends and followers.
Today, standing before the people of Bankura, I felt once again the power of affection and trust that has always defined Bengal’s relationship with me.
Bankura is a living archive of India’s artistic, intellectual and spiritual inheritance. This land cradled the divine journey of Sri Sri Maa Sarada Devi. It shaped the imagination of Jamini Roy, the pen of Ramananda Chattopadhyay, the genius of Ramkinkar Baij. The Bishnupur Gharana, enriched by Jadunath Bhattacharya, carried Bengal’s classical music into a new epoch. The terracotta temples of Bishnupur, the clay artistry of Panchmura, the elegance of Baluchari and Swarnachari sarees, the Dokra metal craft reflect the pulse of a people whose cultural confidence commands admiration far beyond India.
Our Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkaar has worked relentlessly to honour this legacy with progress. And yet, there are forces who recoil at the sight of Bengal advancing without fear or favour. They assert that disruption and infiltration exist nowhere but here. Then I ask them how did tragedy strike Pahalgam? How did sorrow descend upon Delhi? Who answers for the families of 57 citizens lost to the rushed and hurried Special Intensive Revision exercise? Who carries the moral weight of their grief?
Today, Bengalis live and work across the length and breadth of this country. Yet it is deeply disturbing that in several double-engine states, our people are being harassed and targeted merely for speaking Bengali, and are shamefully branded as “Bangladeshis.” When these Bangla-birodhi forces show such open disrespect for our language and subject Bengalis to humiliation simply for who they are, one can only imagine the threat they pose to our mother tongue, our identity, and our rich cultural heritage if they ever attempt to impose their politics on Bengal.
Those who claim to wish well for Bengal must first show that they respect its voice, its workers, its language, its icons, its people. Bengal does not tremble before propaganda. Bengal stands firm, speaks clearly, acts decisively. Let it be known if even one legitimate voter is removed unjustly, the response will rise from the conscience of the people in Bengal, and echo with equal moral force in Delhi. Democracy cannot be edited at the convenience of any party. Rights cannot be cancelled by pressure. Citizens cannot be made to stand alone in the face of injustice.
We have established 'May I Help You' camps across the state so that no person feels abandoned, unheard or powerless. I did not go to Bankura today to solicit votes. I went to uphold rights. I went to protect constitutional guarantees. I went because safeguarding the voice of the people is my only politics. I stand firmly with the people. Bengal has defeated injustice before, Bengal will defeat it again. Not through hatred, but through the unbreakable force of democratic unity.
Joy Bangla!
Sebaashray destabilises an injustice normalised over decades: the belief that quality healthcare is a luxury reserved for the well-off.
On Day 23 of Sebaashray 2, this conviction continues to take concrete shape on the ground. What began as a commitment has evolved into a sustained public health effort, one that places people, not privilege, at the centre of care.
Across Bishnupur, #Sebaashray 2 is delivering advanced diagnostics, medical consultations, essential medicines, and structured referral support, entirely free of cost and without barriers. The steady participation we witness each day is not incidental; it reflects a growing trust in a system that chooses presence over distance and responsibility over rhetoric.
For me, this initiative represents a clear moral choice. When healthcare is made available at the doorstep, hesitation gives way to confidence, and delay gives way to early treatment.
Sebaashray 2 is a continuation of that commitment: to stand with people before illness becomes crisis, and to ensure that compassion is not incidental, but institutional.
Panchali is a treasured part of our ancient tradition and cultural heritage of Bengal.
The melodies of Bengal’s Panchali carry us back into our deepest memories.
Drawing inspiration from this very tradition, Hon’ble Chief Minister @MamataOfficial has now inaugurated ‘Unnayoner Panchali’.
Service to the people is at the heart of every initiative we undertake.
Today, I inaugurated #Sebaashray2 in Maheshtala, renewing our pledge to protect the health and dignity of every citizen of Diamond Harbour. I reviewed the systems, spoke with doctors, nurses, volunteers, and listened to the people whose trust keeps this mission alive.
And while Bangla-birodhi zamindars hover, hoping to bully this land into submission, we answer with something they can’t manufacture: care, competence, and compassion.
The BJP’s chaotic, vindictive SIR has already claimed 40 innocent lives, thrown thousands into terror, and exposed their deep-seated contempt for Bengal and its people.
Here’s a challenge to the BJP: if @AITCOfficial’s seat share rises in the upcoming elections, they must bow to Bengal, seek forgiveness, and release the ₹2 lakh crore owed to the state within seven days.
If they possess even a flicker of shame, they’ll accept.
If not, Bengal already knows: hatred for this state is @BJP4India’s only true ideology.
Heartiest congratulations to Justice Surya Kant on assuming office as the 53rd Chief Justice of India. His elevation marks an important moment for our Nation and we look forward to his stewardship strengthening the independence, integrity and accessibility of the Indian Judiciary.
At a time when constitutional values, institutional autonomy and the rights of citizens require vigilant protection, we hope his tenure will further reinforce the principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity that lie at the heart of our nation.
Wishing the Hon’ble Chief Justice a tenure marked by wisdom, fairness and commitment to the Constitution of India.
Time has been sought for a delegation of 10 MPs. They are representatives ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, unlike the CEC and ECs who are hand-picked by the Government of India. These selective leaks portraying the EC as “transparent” and “cordial” are nothing but a manufactured facade.
If the @ECISVEEP is genuinely transparent, why is it scared to face just 10 MPs ? Hold the meeting openly. TELECAST IT LIVE and answer the five straightforward, legitimate questions that the AITC will place before you.
Is the Election Commission willing to prove its transparency or does it only function behind closed doors ?
The Election Commission is deliberately planting selective leaks to falsely claim that they have provided a point-by-point rebuttal to the issues raised by the AITC delegation today. These assertions are not just misleading, they are OUTRIGHT LIES. If the EC truly has nothing to hide and actually believes in transparency, then instead of hiding behind motivated leaks, it must immediately release the full CCTV footage and every piece of evidence it claims to possess. Anything less only exposes their bad faith and raises serious questions about their intent.
And let me add this clearly: A few hours will always be too short , take as many days as you want to answer the five basic questions we placed before you.
We have ENOUGH DIGITAL EVIDENCE to prove how your narrative is being distorted through planted, fabricated leaks. So THINK TWICE before you choose to pick a fight with West Bengal and @AITCofficial .
I understand your frustration, Mr. SIR, but facts do not bend to convenience. If energy is available for planting stories, surely it can be redirected to answering the five simple questions.
Your Time starts NOW!
When BJP’s propaganda ecosystem starts recycling four-month old notifications to whip up fake excitement and glorify the EC, it exposes just one truth : Mr. SIR’s strategy hasn’t JUST FAILED, it has COLLAPSED in full public view.
Despite deploying every weapon at their command- The Union government’s machinery, EC, ED, CBI, IT, Central Forces, a captive media and even convenient pockets of the judiciary - the BJP still knows BENGAL WILL BEAT THEM AGAIN and return with a bigger mandate than 2021.
So here’s my simple question to @BJP4India leaders:
Do you dare accept my challenge or will you keep hiding behind stale propaganda and state power?
In protest against @ECISVEEP's poorly planned, @BJP4India-guided SIR exercise, our 10-member delegation raised a strong voice at the Nirvachan Sadan in Delhi.
Our Hon’ble MPs placed five direct questions before the Chief Election Commissioner that Gyanesh Kumar failed to answer:
👉🏼 If the real intention is to detect fake voters or so-called “infiltrators”, why is Bengal being targeted while other border states remain untouched?
👉🏼 These same voters elected BJP to power nationally; does BJP now admit its own government is “illegal”?
👉🏼 Numerous BLOs and ordinary people have died under inhuman pressure and panic arising from SIR. Will the Election Commission take responsibility?
👉🏼 Why is the Commission refusing to allow 'Bangla Sahayata Kendra' staff to assist with data entry tasks?
👉🏼 BJP leaders are claiming that 1 crore names will be deleted in Bengal; does this mean BJP is now running the Election Commission?
The Commission is bending over backwards to benefit BJP, while completely ignoring the concerns of the Opposition. Hon’ble MP Smt. Satabdi Roy strongly condemned this blatant double standard.
Proud to share that West Bengal has emerged as one of the most favoured international tourist destinations in the country, and has achieved another great milestone!!
In the recently released India Tourism Data Compendium 2025 by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India , West Bengal has attracted 2nd highest foreign tourist footfall in the country!
The tourism resurgence post covid is a reflection of the initiatives taken by us to create and promote new verticals of tourism including festival tourism, religious tourism, MICE ( Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism among others.
I welcome all tourists both domestic and foreign to visit West Bengal, the sweetest part of India, and experience its beauty, culture and heritage.
I thank all tourism stakeholders who have worked relentlessly towards achieving this proud moment for West Bengal.

On this fateful day in 2007, the brave people of Nandigram rose up against the barbaric attempt by the then Left Front government to snatch away their land, dignity and right to live with honour.
The face of the oppressor has only changed, the oppression remains the same. The harmads of yesterday have returned as the jallads of today. Where once the Left Front relied on covert, “SCIENTIFIC RIGGING” the present regime resorts to SILENT INVISIBLE RIGGING.
Bengal taught the Left Front a lesson it will never forget, today we send the same message to the zamindars of Delhi. Bengal will resist, relentlessly and resolutely. We will crush their arrogance in the ballot box and consign this politics of exclusion to the dustbin of history.
I am deeply shocked and anguished to learn of the tragic explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, which has reportedly claimed several lives and left many others injured. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families and my prayers are with those recovering from their injuries.
It is extremely distressing that such an incident has taken place in the heart of our National Capital. The Delhi Police, which is directly under the Union Home Ministry, bears the primary responsibility for maintaining law and order. How, then are such grave lapses in security being allowed to occur?
Only yesterday morning, nearly 350 kg of explosives and an assault rifle were recovered from Faridabad in Haryana. Viewed together, these incidents raise alarming questions about internal security and the evident decline in vigilance.
An impartial, time-bound investigation must be conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), under court supervision if necessary, to uncover the truth and ensure that those responsible are held fully accountable.
