Holyfield grew up in Atlanda, Georgia were he started boxing at the age of 7 and would win numerous tournaments. He would later represent his country at the 1984 Olympic games and win a bronze medal

In 1990 he would attempt to unify the heavyweight titles when he faces Lennox Lewis but in their two bouts he was awarded a controversial draw and lost the final bout.

His career is defined as one where he fought the best of his era and showed the heart of a warrior.
