I will be in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, tomorrow, 20th June. This visit will be noteworthy as Rashtrapati Ji will be joining the programme. Mayurbhanj is also the home district of the Honourable President, Droupadi Murmu Ji.

Rashtrapati Ji and I will be in Pahadpur village, after which we will join the programme to mark two years of the present Odisha Government. Development works worth over Rs. 47,000 crore would either be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid.

On the 21st, Kolkata will be hosting the Yoga Day programme. I am very happy that a programme of this nature is being held in Kolkata.

After the Yoga Day programme, I will join another programme in which three indigenously designed and built naval ships will be commissioned. These are INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray. They will strengthen our security apparatus. At the same time, they reflect our commitment to further self-reliance in the defence sector.

From Tarakeswar, the 23rd instalment of PM-KISAN will be released, thereby benefiting innumerable hardworking farmers across India.

It is a matter of immense joy that tomorrow, key Central Government schemes relating to agriculture will also be rolled out. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Agri Stack as part of the Digital Agriculture Mission, National Mission on Natural Farming and Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana are among these schemes. They will benefit the hardworking farmers of West Bengal.

I will be attending programmes in West Bengal over the next two days, the 20th and 21st. Tomorrow, 20th June, is special because we are marking Paschimbanga Divas. The programme for the same will be held in Tarakeswar in Hooghly district. The location is iconic due to its association with Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and his efforts to preserve the culture of West Bengal. At Tarakeswar, various development works will be launched.

This day celebrates a state that has profoundly shaped India's history through its contributions to diverse areas be it literature, music, art, spirituality, science, trade and commerce, social reform and more. Time and again, West Bengal has enriched India's national consciousness in countless ways.

Today, 20th June is of immense significance in West Bengal’s history. This was the day which ensured that West Bengal remains an integral part of India. The role of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was invaluable in the same. This year, 2026, we are also marking the 125th Jayanti of Dr. Mookerjee.

The Central Government will work with the West Bengal Government to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people. I pray for the progress of West Bengal and the prosperity of its people.
