🎖️ Pipping Ceremony 🎖️
The Pipping Ceremony marking the promotion of DIGP Shri Ajay Krishan Sharma, IPS, to the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) was held with pride . The rank insignia was pipped by DGP Goa Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, in the presence of senior officers and staff.

Hon’ble Chief Minister today flagged off new vehicles and equipment for Goa Police, significantly boosting operational preparedness and public safety. The induction includes a Vehicle Mounted Jammer for security, two TATA 407 high side deck body trucks, one 10-tonne heavy crane for traffic management, six Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles for traffic enforcement, and the distribution of 60 Body Worn Cameras for Traffic Police.
Notably, the Vehicle Mounted Jammer is a major addition, enabling Goa Police to have in-house capability instead of relying on borrowed equipment from other states. These resources will enhance security arrangements, traffic enforcement, and overall policing efficiency.
On the occasion of World Meditation Day, a meditation programme was held today at GRP Camp, Altinho, in the presence of DGP Goa Shri Alok Kumar, IPS along with senior officers and staff. The session highlighted the importance of meditation in enhancing mental well-being, inner discipline and emotional balance, reminding everyone to pause, breathe and stay calm and focused in the midst of demanding duties.
A delegation from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) visited Goa and held discussions with DGP Goa, Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, regarding a 5-day residential training programme on tourism policing, scheduled from 15th to 19th September 2025, to be jointly organised by RRU and Goa Police

As a part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2025 observance, a March Past was held from Dempo Towers, Panaji to Police Headquarters, Panaji. Around 100 police personnel, along with the Goa Police Band, participated in the march.
The event highlighted the message of national unity and collective responsibility, inspired by the values of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

As a part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, an Ekta Tree Plantation was organised at the GRP Camp and GOs Institute, Altinho, to commemorate the spirit of unity and environmental responsibility.
The plantation was carried out under the leadership of Shri K. R. Chaurasia, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Goa, and Shri Ajay Krishan Sharma, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), in the presence of senior officers of Goa Police.
The initiative reaffirmed the collective commitment of Goa Police towards strengthening national integration, promoting ecological sustainability, and fostering community welfare, inspired by the vision and ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

A training session on NATGRID (National Intelligence Grid) was conducted at Goa Police Headquarters, aimed at enhancing the analytical and technical capabilities of police personnel in intelligence gathering and data-driven investigation. The session focused on practical use cases and real-time data access to strengthen coordination among law enforcement agencies.

Goa Police successfully organised the Fit Goa Run 2025 to promote fitness and raise awareness on cyber safety among citizens. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from public, spreading the message of staying Fit, Alert & Cyber-Aware in today’s digital age.
Today, handed over the Offer of Appointment Letters to 14 candidates selected for the post of Lower Division Clerk in the Goa Police Department. The letters were handed over by Director General of Police, Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, in the presence of Inspector General of Police, Shri K. R. Chaurasia, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (HQ), Shri Ajay Krishan Sharma, IPS, Superintendent of Police (HQ), Shri D. G. P. Angle, and other senior officers. The program marked a significant step towards strengthening the administrative cadre and welcoming new members into the Goa Police.
Valedictory Function – Tourism Policing Training
The Five Day Residential Training Programme on Tourism Policing concluded today at GO’s Institute Hall, Panaji, with the Hon’ble Governor of Goa and HCM Goa gracing the valedictory session. They commended the joint efforts of Goa Police and Rashtriya Raksha University in enhancing professional skills of tourist policing across the country.
A 5-day Training of Trainers Workshop on the New Criminal Laws, sponsored by BPR&D, New Delhi, is being held from 8th to 12th September at GOs Institute, Altinho, to train Master Trainers of Goa Police. The workshop was inaugurated by DGP Goa Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, and included a briefing on the training program by Shri Gaurav Singhal, Program Management Lead, Ernst & Young LLP (on behalf of BPR&D).
