Through the WR Women’s Chess Tour, we aim to elevate women’s chess while presenting Germany as a nation of culture, education, and opportunity.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce the new WR Chess team for the 2026 World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship in Hong Kong.

Since the founding of WR Chess, our vision has always been to bring together not only the strongest chess players in the world, but also outstanding personalities who truly believe in the educational, cultural, and unifying power of chess.

This year, our team is led by World No.1 Magnus Carlsen and includes some of the greatest names in modern chess: Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Hou Yifan, and Alexandra Kosteniuk.

I am especially pleased to welcome the newest member of WR Chess - the 7th Speaker and 34th Prime Minister of Mongolia, Arena International Master H.E. Zandanshatar Gombojav.

His long-standing support for chess development and intellectual education in Mongolia reflects values that we deeply respect at WR Chess. I am confident that his presence will bring additional inspiration and international attention to our team and to the global chess community.

With this exceptional lineup, WR Chess enters the 2026 World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship in Hong Kong this June as the No.1 ranked team in the competition.

I did it! 🏆☺️😎 Won the 1000-player “Tusenmanna” tournament in Stockholm. A long grind, over 10-hours of chess (17 rapid, 2 blitz games). Wasn’t easy shaking off the rust, but it was a fun challenge. Many thanks to @Chessparty_ for such a memorable weekend!
