Aging is not the wrinkles on your face.
Aging is the weakness in your legs.
Aging is when you cannot climb stairs without negotiating with your knees.
Aging is when simple tasks feel like a project.
The problem is not age.
The problem is muscle loss.
Muscle is not vanity. Muscle is survival. Muscle is your metabolic engine.
Muscle decides whether your blood sugar behaves or misbehaves.
Muscle is the warehouse that stores glucose so it doesn’t become fat.
Muscle is what protects your bones, your joints, your heart, and even your brain.
But modern adults lose muscle like sand from a broken basket.
— Sitting all day.
— Eating bread and vibes.
— Protein deficiency disguised as “I’m not really hungry.”
— Zero strength training.
Then you wonder why you feel older than your parents at the same age.
When muscle disappears, everything collapses.
— Insulin resistance creeps in.
— Fatigue becomes normal.
— Hormones become confused.
— Balance becomes shaky.
— Immunity weakens.
— Healing slows down.
— Stress hits harder.
— Sleep becomes useless.
And your body begins to age at triple speed.
The so-called anti-aging creams cannot save you.
The supplements cannot save you.
The detox teas cannot save you.
What you need is resistance training. Controlled stress on your muscles. Progressive overload.
Lifting your own weight before lifting iron. Building strength like your life depends on it, because it does.
You don’t lose muscle because you are old.
You grow old because you lost muscle.
Muscle is the real anti-aging drug, and the prescription is simple: protein, strength training, sleep, sunlight, and consistency.
Grow your muscle or watch your life shrink.
Don't forget to reach out for a diet plan. Share and tag your friends.
If you are from the trenches, pray!
pray regularly. The system is not built for you to survive
Speak up! Ask!
Never stop asking. It doesn't matter how many NOs you get.
Being shy or timid is your greatest enemy.
For a lot of us, the economic resources we need at some point won't come from our parents. So you have to develop the confidence to ask people by providing some form of value in return.
Closed mouths will never get fed
"The ability to speak effectively is a requirement rather than a gift"
God will bless us🙏❤️
Life can be extra hard if you don't have a guide. It can be really hard if no one is looking out for you, showing you the ropes.
Please Stay Strong
You will figure it out
Be patient with yourself
Don't let anyone rush you
Some babies take longer to walk
The key is to never give up trying
Rooting for you. God bless you❤️🙏
Every man has 4 dimensions of strength:
- Mental resilience
- Emotional intelligence
- Physical endurance
- Spiritual grounding.
If you feel weak, channel your energy into one,
You'll experience empowerment within a few weeks.
One thing I learnt in Cuba is that Èṣù is actually not satan. Cuban and Brazilian Yoruba (they are often called Lucumi) left Nigeria before Ajayi Crowther corrupted that word. They were not affected by the corruption. Èṣù is actually an Òrìṣà (a god or deity), which in Scripture, is called a fallen angel/demon. But he is not satan himself.
Interestingly, Yoruba is taught in schools in Cuba, and Ifa worship (known here as Santeria, or Candomblé, which is Ifá traditional religion mixed with Catholicism) is prevalent and done openly. Èṣù is one of the Òrìṣà of Santería and Candomblé. Black, White and Latin are all deeply into Santeria and Candomblé here.
The issue is that when Samuel Ajayi Crowther was translating the Bible into Yoruba, he could not find a suitable word for satan, and rather than just leave it as satan, he took one of the orisas in Ifa worship, Èṣù, and turned the poor fellow into satan!
While it is hard to translate satan into Yoruba because there is no such concept, the nearest being to satan is not Èṣù. Even the word Èṣù is not complete. In Cuba, the full name is Èṣù-Ẹlẹ́gbára, sometimes shortened to Ẹlẹ́gbá, or Eleguá, as the Cubans call it. It was in Cuba that I was educated about the fact that the place in Lagos called Ojuelegba is actually Ojubo-Ẹlẹ́gbá, meaning shrine of Ẹlẹ́gbá, or more accurately, a portal from which the deity enters and exits the spiritual realm to enter the physical realm. And we in Nigeria are blissfully unaware of this!
Travel is an education for me. This year alone, I have been to 20 countries. Why do I travel? Because there is knowledge out there that can cure my ignorance in certain areas. Some of you have been praying to God to send you destiny helpers. What if your DH is in another country? Travel for fun. Travel for education. Travel to meet people! Travel for inspiration!
Alhaji Kafaru Tinubu who died 20 years today was Tinubu’s Uncle.
Let me tell you something about him.....
After MKO Abiola, being the winner of June 12, 1993 election, declared himself as the President of Nigeria in 1994 at Epetedo in Lagos, the military launched a massive manhunt for Abiola and all his apostles, king of which was Bola Tinubu. After the arrest of MKO Abiola, Tinubu and others were declared wanted by the Federal government and ransom was placed on their heads. The military wanted to charge them for Treason!
Tinubu went underground. His Uncle, a senior police officer Alhaji Kafaru Tinubu was worried. Nobody knew where Tinubu hid till today. However, Tinubu suspected that his family members would be in agony and fearful for his life, he decided to show his face to his family members to keep their hearts in peace and then return underground. He went to Alhaji Kafaru who was extremely happy to see him. It was a sigh of relief for Tinubu’s family. Kafaru, being a senior Policeman, advised Tinubu not to go underground again, he said "Ahmed, you can't hide forever from Federal Government, they'll get you but they may kill you and lie that you were trying to escape or using force against security agents, therefore, report yourself at a police station, even if they kill you at the police station, we will all know that it is the Federal government that kill you. Please do as I say".
Tinubu walked into a police station in Lagos, introduced himself and said he had come to surrender himself being a wanted man by the Military Junta. Immediately, the policemen on duty started charging their guns and shouting "move move" as if he was caught. A man who reported himself o.
Tinubu was locked up in a small cell meant for 4 people but which was now occupied, with inclusion of Tinubu, by over 30! Tinubu saw some of his colleagues who he didn't know had earlier been arrested. Beginning of hell for a Mobil Executive who had chosen a different path for himself!!!!
After several months in Prison, a judge approved the bail of some pro democracy activists, Bola Tinubu was one of them. The judge is now today's Emir of Ilorin. The military junta was mad at the judge especially for releasing Tinubu. They plotted a final blow for him.
Tinubu had information not to go to his house immediately he was released. You know Tinubu’s family in Lagos is one of the best families on earth. They never removed their eyes off their son. So Tinubu didn't go to his house to sleep the night he was released, he went elsewhere. That same night, his house was bombed! Alas!!! On tip off, Tinubu took NADECO route and escaped to Benin Republic 🇧🇯.
Alhaji Kafaru Tinubu was the man who took Tinubu to all Progressive leaders in Lagos in 1989 when Tinubu first told him about his mission to join politics. Kafaru handed Tinubu over to people like Tajudeen Olusi and others to guide and support "Bi oju ba ye oju ki ohun ma ye o, Bola d'owo yin o". And even after Kafaru's death, Progressives in Lagos never betrayed the Tinubu Family.
Alhaji Kafaru Tinubu, the seed you planted in 1989 into politics has grown beyond the Senate or Governorship which you witnessed, he has now become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬. Certainly you will be happy in paradise as you're reading this.
Twenty years ago just like yesterday. Rest in Peace Baba Kafaru Tinubu.
