Did a little more research on this singularly ill timed decision by the AIFF to change the name to Football Federation of Bharat and mandate a 4 minute song(which FIFA will never allow for internationals) before each AIFF match.
And it turned out that neither of these items were actually on the agenda before the meeting, and came as a surprise to most in the meeting. And these items were never put on vote or passed.
But according to the AIFF's own press release the same day, it seemed to be a done deal.
"It was further resolved that a proposal be submitted to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) for renaming the All India Football Federation (AIFF) as the Football Federation of Bharat (FFB).
It was also decided that the National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' and the National Song 'Vande Mataram' shall be played before the commencement of all football matches conducted under the aegis of AIFF."
The fact is that the AIFF elections are in a few months, and this is an excellent way to make sure that this election will be fought on name changes and national songs, when what it should really be decided on is how well or badly the current lot is running the sport and whether they should or should be replaced.
It is also a terrible disservice to many sincere AIFF state representatives who would have been just as surprised by this sudden development, and who would needlessly be the object of ire and ridicule among their own constituents.
There is a way of changing all of this. But it starts with at the state level with each sport and a collective will to end this nonsense and lack of accountability.

Most of the journalists getting troubled over the BBC report on India not playing FIFA WC are the ones who hardly cover Indian Football. Infact repeated calls to them about stories on indian football or even domestic football are not entertained. #RealityCheck

I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.

Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.

Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.

Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.

As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.

Till 2024, it could be accessed by everyone. Last year the access was terminated.

The AWS was enabling public to know the live rainfall numbers and other stats. Sadly it was revoked last year. Kindly enable it again.

Would not like to say this, but end of the day the infrastructure has been build using public funds. The infrastructure software endpoint access is only requested and no physical infra access is needed.

For way too long, our Achilles heel has been 2nd half defending (especially after 80 minutes). If you look at how we concede goals ( be it from Nyuh, N Thi Van, Sabitra) , its always left only for the defenders to defend in the last 10 mins. The DMs should have been racing but Sangita, Shilky (& the entire team) were completely out of position. Its a mental block in our mindset that defending should be left to defenders!#IndianFootball needs this vast improvement of psyche on how to get a result in the last 10 minutes Note: My rant does Not to take away what we achieved here. IWL was supposed to start early to help the Indian Women’s Team prepare for the AFC Asian Cup 2026, but same old story.

FSDL’s exit was known. Performax’s exit was known. What did AIFF do meanwhile, when three women’s national teams are playing the Asia Cups and chasing a World Cup dream?

Did they approach Nike, Adidas or any global brand to back these girls? No. Instead, another unrealistic tender that everyone knew wouldn’t attract bids at AIFF’s expectations.

Now, the makeshift jerseys sent to Australia weren’t even the proper sizes. Last-minute local vendor used. India is the only team at the Asian Cup playing in substandard kits.

This is not just mismanagement, it’s disrespect to the players and the country. #IndianFootball
