It is worth noting that thousands of Igbos have resided in Osun State for over three decades. Similarly, during Ahmed Makarfi’s tenure as governor of Kaduna State in 2003, many Yorubas served in his cabinet without eliciting public criticism from the Hausa community in Kaduna.
When law enforcement appears to protect one side while victims cry for justice, confidence in the system collapses. Osun people deserve a police command that serves all citizens equally. The transfer of CP Gotan has become necessary to restore trust and peace.

My Hajia was complaining that her second phone’s screen got damaged and now she has to spend a lot of money to fix it; and fixing a Samsung screen is like buying another phone. I asked how much and she told me the amount.
In less than 10 seconds I sent the money to her and shared the receipt. Then she said: oh noo I was just ranting to you not that I wanted you to send me the money o.
Now I’ve asked her to return my money, she said the money don go be that. How? 😂
Make I sell some copies of her book and collect the money inside my account till my money is complete. Abi? Please come and buy books, it’s just 30k per copy. I need to recover my money. 😂
If you are in good mood to get some copies and share for kids whose parents might not be able to afford this book, please slide into my DM and place your orders. May God bless you.
CP IBRAHIM GOTAN: IT IS TIME TO STEP DOWN
POLITICAL THUGS AND POLICE OFFICERS CAN NOT ACT AS PARALLEL ENFORCERS IN THE STATE
Barely 36 hours after my open letter demanding the resignation of Osun State Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Gotan for negligence and gross irresponsibility following the killing of a 14-year-old boy in Ilobu, political thugs have claimed another life.
A young man and resident of Esa-Oke identified only as Rogba has been murdered in cold blood. Rogba, a father of four from Esa-Oke, was reportedly murdered in cold blood in front of his father’s house. His wife and young children watched him die, gasping for life. The photos are gory and painful, but they tell the truth: this cycle of bloodshed continues while the police leadership appears unbothered.
The killing of a father of four, another sad occurrence, shows CP Ibrahim Gotan’s command is no longer able to secure the state. Political thugs have overwhelmed his tactics. What’s missing isn’t just expertise, but the will to act. If I were in his position, resignation would be the honorable path. Posterity beckons.
I demanded CP Ibrahim Gotan’s resignation over glaring negligence. In response, some left-wing comrades who are friends of thugs and enablers of political violence under the guise of patriots took to Osogbo’s streets to pass a vote of confidence on him. Ironically, those people also protested the surge in political killings across the state. One can not affirm and condemn at the same time.
Political thugs and the police must no longer act as parallel, lawful, unlawful, and enforcers in the state. The open display of guns, cutlasses, and axes, coupled with bloodshed, undermines police authority and reduces the security agency to a figurehead. It is deeply disturbing that two people have been murdered in cold blood by political thugs within the last 36 hours.
These criminals are not ghosts. They move freely in broad daylight and mock the families of their victims. It is alarming that at least six people have been killed by political thugs in the last 14 days, yet the police have not arrested a single suspect. This confirms my position that CP Ibrahim Gotan lacks the capacity to steer the police toward real security and stability.
It is time for CP Ibrahim Gotan to take responsibility for this failure, act with integrity, and resign honorably. He has failed the people of Osun. The Osun State Police Command must stop making excuses while young people continue to be murdered in cold blood by non-state actors.

Osun Is not Afraid of Your Brigandry; You Cannot Kill Your Way to Governorship — Gov Adeleke to Osun APC
OSOGBO- 22/06/2026 - https://t.co/fRzeiXKpdK
Governor Ademola Adeleke today visited the family of late Ezekiel Olapade who was killed on Sunday by APC thugs in branded Ambo bus, warning that Osun is not scared of APC brigandry and violence.
The governor accompanied by top government officials wept alongside the family of the victims, declaring that “Osun APC and its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, cannot kill their way into governorship.
Expressing anguish and sorrow over a life cut shot for political reasons, the governor affirmed that Osun people cannot be cowed by gunshots and declared that “we are not afraid as we remain resolute in our re-election bid.
“We are a courageous people; we cannot be silenced. We hold our heads high as we seek the support of our people.
“I wonder who is behind APC strategy. You are attacking and maiming people you are seeking to govern. How is that a way to secure power?
“You killed the innocents whose votes you need. They are attacking the people thinking that will give them the governorship. They cannot kill their way to power. Osun wont be captured by brute force.
The governor who was also at the Osun State Teaching Hospital visited and condoled John Mathew who survived gunshots during which the victim was killed, calling the attack “barbaric and a demonstration of man inhumanity to man.
“I have talked to the police authorities. They must arrest and prosecute the killers. This criminal conduct has to stop. That was how APC thugs attempted an attack on my son.
“We will not rest until justice prevail. Osun people will not bow to agents of violence. We will vote and by Gods grace, I shall be re-elected” the governor noted.
The deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi who also at the condolence visit condemned killing of innocent ones by political thugs, declared that “God will avenge the death of Ezekiel”
He invokes God's name to punish mastermind of the killings, praying God to console the family of the victims.
Hon Ajibade Sikiru, Accord chairman for Irepodun local government while welcoming the Governor narrated the sequence of events leading to the killing:
“We have been shouting about Saheed, how he has been shooting round the town. We have been informing the security agencies. Last week, Saheed attacked some Accord members. He was reported to the police but was let off the hook by the police command.
“If the police had acted rightly, Saheed would not have perpetrated the killing of Ezekiel. The previous attack was done with an AMBO branded Sienna. We task police not to play politics with our lives, the party chairman narrated.
The governor was accompanied by the Speaker of the state assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun; the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye; the state chairman of Accord, Pastor Victor Akande, the Commissioner for Information, Hon Kolapo Alimi; a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Maruf Adewale Gangaria; Special Adviser on Legal Matters to the governor, Hon Nurudeen Kareem; Political Adviser to the governor, Hon Muniru Raji; Hon Adekunle Oladimeji and other top state officials.
Signed:
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the State Governor.
Nigerians must be made to see the what Osun APC is doing to Osun residents in the name of politics. Your party can't promise to serve the people and at the same time kxll the same people. APC will not be allowed to return Osun to the days of thuggery. Osun is a peaceful state!
This is another video evidence relating to the killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapade in Ilobu. What more evidence does the Osun State Commissioner of Police need to arrest Saheed Kareem Tanfeani, who allegedly arrived in an APC-branded vehicle and shot the young boy? His name was mentioned in the video evidence.
I also saw a recent video in which he claimed to be in Osogbo while attempting to defend himself. Notably, he appeared to be wearing a blue 🔵 shirt seen in the video recorded around the time Ezekiel Olapade was attacked and killed in Ilobu.
The conduct of the Osun State Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Gotan raises serious concerns about bias. We respectfully appeal to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu @TunjiDisu1, and relevant police authorities, including @PoliceNG and @PoliceNG_CRU, to ensure a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation and to take appropriate measures to restore public confidence. We urge the authorities to act swiftly to prevent further violence and protect innocent lives. Anyone found responsible should be brought to justice in accordance with the law. The family of the deceased and the people of Osun State deserve accountability, and no one should be above the law.

During my visit to the family of late Ezekiel Olapade yesterday, I reiterated that politics is not a do-or-die affair. Political killing should no longer be tolerated in our society, and I urge security agencies to bring the perpetrators of this evil act to justice.
No individual should lose their life because of political differences. As a people, we must reject violence, embrace peace, and uphold the sanctity of human life. My administration remains committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and that justice is served for the deceased, his family, and the good people of Osun State.
JUST IN: Here is a video of how a 14-year old Ezekiel Olapade was killed in Ilobu yesterday. As this video clearly showed, the thug identified by the father of the victim is the one in blue short, shooting directly at people. That was an APC campaign vehicle which they possibly came with. So sad that the APC, who denied this, are now being seen at the scene. God is always exposing them. They will probably be looking for another way to operate in this system.
We hope those who said they aren’t supporting violence can now speak up with this evidence.
