CoTU Decries Selective Crackdown After Tokpa and Kailenjang Arson

The Committee on Tribal Unity condemned the burning of nine houses at Tokpa Naga village on August 12, but slammed security forces for swift action at Keithelmanbi Military Colony while allegedly staying silent after Kailenjang Kuki village was torched on August 10. Kuki women confronted forces, questioning the disparity. CoTU alleged the Kailenjang attack was by NSCN-IM and ZUF-Kamson and urged the Centre and state to ensure equal, impartial justice instead of selective operations.

A new beginning in Manipur

Today, 46 men put down their guns. Yes, FORTY SIX active KCP (PWG) cadres surrendered before the Hon’ble #ChiefMinister Shri Y Khemchand Singh in the presence of #GOC, #SpearCorps, #DGP, #Manipur, #IGAR South at #Imphal East.

Zero of them were ever part of a peace deal. Zero shots fired to bring them in.

Just weeks of ground-level work by Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police - talking, waiting, trusting, until 46 men chose a life over the gun.

A significant step towards lasting peace and stability in #Manipur was achieved with the voluntary surrender of 46 cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) before the Hon’ble #ChiefMinister Shri Y Khemchand Singh in the presence of #GOC, #SpearCorps, #DGP, #Manipur, #IGAR South, GOC #RedShieldDivision and DIG, #CRPF at Mantripukhri Garrison, #Imphal East.

This significant outcome happened after months of sustained and patient outreach by the #IndianArmy and #AssamRifles formations of #SpearCorps, under the aegis of #EasternCommand, assisted by #ManipurPolice and Central Security Agencies. Relentless efforts of the #AssamRifles ensured that channels of communication remained open, motivating the cadres to renounce militancy and choose the path of peace and reintegration. The surrendered cadres have resolved to abjure violence and return to civilian life.

The #IndianArmy remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering peace, stability and lasting normalcy in #Manipur.

यह महत्वपूर्ण सफलता #पूर्वी_कमान के तत्वावधान में #SpearCorps की #भारतीय_सेना और #असम_राइफल्स की इकाइयों द्वारा कई महीनों तक लगातार किए गए धैर्यपूर्ण संवाद और जनसंपर्क प्रयासों का परिणाम है। इन प्रयासों में #ManipurPolice और केंद्रीय सुरक्षा एजेंसियों का भी महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग रहा। #असम_राइफल्स ने लगातार संवाद बनाए रखा, जिससे कैडर हिंसा का रास्ता छोड़कर शांति और मुख्यधारा में लौटने के लिए प्रेरित हुए।आत्मसमर्पण करने वाले सभी ��ैडरों ने हिंसा का त्याग कर सामान्य नागरिक जीवन अपनाने का संकल्प लिया है।
