Being a Brahmin was never just about learning scriptures; it was always about upholding Dharma in whatever form the times demanded.
But let’s see!
🚨📲 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Frenkie de Jong on IG:
“Playing soccer outside every day until dark. The games together with my whole family in front of the TV. All the moments when the entire country turns orange.
A day like today, when you are called up to represent the Netherlands at a World Cup, takes me back to the old days. To the boy who could only dream of becoming a professional soccer player from his bedroom. Sometimes it’s important to reflect on where you come from, because that little boy is still in me.
The fact that I get to live this dream again with this group of guys makes me proud. On to a beautiful Orange summer, in which we will give everything to make our country proud 🇳🇱🦁”
🇳🇱📉 How Ajax Conquered Europe… And Then Collapsed:
• 2018/19: Ajax shocked Europe.
Started in the Champions League qualifiers, destroyed Real Madrid 4-1 at the Bernabéu, eliminated Juventus in Turin and reached the UCL semi-finals playing fearless football with De Jong, De Ligt, Ziyech and Tadić. They were seconds away from the final before Tottenham’s comeback.
• 2019/20: The breakup started.
Europe’s biggest clubs took apart the team immediately. De Jong left for Barcelona, De Ligt joined Juventus, and Ajax slowly lost the core that made them special.
• 2020/21: Still exciting, but different.
Ten Hag rebuilt the team with new talents like Antony, Timber and Gravenberch. Ajax remained dominant domestically and competitive in Europe, but the magic of 2019 was impossible to recreate.
• 2021/22: One last great European run.
Ajax won ALL 6 Champions League group stage matches, including dominant performances against Dortmund. Many believed they could go far again… until Benfica knocked them out in the Round of 16.
• 2022/23: The collapse began.
Ten Hag left. Antony left. Lisandro Martínez left. Mazraoui left. Ajax spent heavily to rebuild and almost every decision went wrong. The club completely lost its identity.
• 2023/24: One of the darkest seasons in Ajax history.
Managerial chaos, terrible recruitment, fan protests and humiliating results. At one point, Ajax were shockingly close to the relegation zone in the Eredivisie.
• 2024/25: Hope returned… and then heartbreak.
Ajax rebuilt under Francesco Farioli, topped the Eredivisie again and even had a 9-point lead with just weeks left... Then they completely collapsed, throwing away the title to PSV in one of the biggest bottlejobs in recent football history, while being out in Round of 16 in Europa League
• 2025/26: Complete disaster again.
Ajax returned to the Champions League… and finished bottom of the league phase after losing all their first 5 matches... They also failed in Europe again, collapsed in the Eredivisie, finished 5th and didn’t qualify for next season’s Champions League.
One of football’s saddest downfalls. 💔
