New York City is putting nearly 700 EV charging points directly onto its streets.

Despite nobody in America wanting EVs apparently.

And this is exactly the sort of infrastructure needed.

Startup company “it’s electric” will build a permanent curbside charging network across all five boroughs.

The city currently has just 88 curbside chargers, and installations will be targeted in areas with limited off-street parking

And there’s already evidence that they’re needed.

NYC says its existing curbside chargers are occupied by an EV more than 70% of the time, with utilisation approaching 99% at some locations.

Around half of New York City car owners park on the street, making conventional home charging impossible for huge numbers of people.

As "Untold Mr. T: I Pity the Fool" airs on Netflix, we’re taking a look back at Mr. T’s work with President and Mrs. Reagan, his now-iconic 1983 White House visit dressed as Santa Claus, and his commitment to giving back.

Mr. T became an important part of Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” campaign, using his platform to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and make positive choices. His work with Mrs. Reagan on the campaign was, in his own words, “the highlight of my career.”

Mr. T didn’t just talk the talk. While filming "Rocky III," he sought out homeless shelters to bring food, clothes, and other items to people in need. He was part of the Midnight Mission where he prayed and spoke with those he met through it.

We’re proud to celebrate Mr. T not only as an ’80s icon, but as someone who used his platform to serve the community.
