The Birth of the OK Movement

The OK Movement traces its origin to a historic meeting held at the residence of former Nigerian Head of State and President, Olusegun Obasanjo. This significant engagement brought together distinguished political leaders and stakeholders who shared a common vision for Nigeria’s future and laid the foundation for what would later evolve into the OK Movement.

The delegation was led by Akin Oshuntokun, former Director-General of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation (2023). Also in attendance were Chief Ebiseni, National Secretary-General of Afenifere; Dr. Adefolaseye Adebomi Adebayo, one of the founding members of the OK Movement; and Hon. John Ozyl Ughulu, who serves as the National Director General of the Obi Kwankwaso (OK) Movement.

The meeting represented a defining moment in the movement’s history, providing the platform upon which the vision, principles, and strategic direction of the OK Movement were conceived. It reflected a shared commitment to fostering national unity, strengthening democratic institutions, promoting competent and accountable leadership, and advancing a new political culture founded on integrity, inclusiveness, and service to the Nigerian people.

From this landmark gathering emerged the OK Movement, a grassroots-driven national movement dedicated to mobilising Nigerians around a common purpose: building a nation anchored on good governance, social justice, economic prosperity, and responsible leadership. Since its inception, the movement has continued to expand its reach across Nigeria and the diaspora, remaining steadfast in its mission to contribute meaningfully to the emergence of a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
