@doryreads Considering it's an NYRB edition you won't be able to find one under 1k. At least not a new one. Maybe try used book stores or people selling their used book on reddit. Even then chances of someone parting with this edition is slim to none.
@irismaybooks Albert Camus' The Fall is written in second person perspective where the main character directly addresses us readers as if we are a character in the story as well.
@drjrabel I have the same translation( different publishers) but I can never make it past the first 150 pages. Maybe I need to pair my reading with some wine as well.
@howlsbooks They're all short so you can probably read a novel a day. I've read only 'Under the Eye of the Big Bird' by Hiromi Kawakami and am looking forward to reading the rest. Hopefully I'll read them in time as well.
@subpargarbage I've been using Fable for almost 6 months now. I love the bookclubs feature and the UI feels a lot more smoother and aesthetically pleasing compared to the Goodreads app.
@_jennaswifey It's more descriptive and has a wider vocabulary than most contemporary books but it's not necessarily difficult to understand. It's also a good book to get into the classics and especially into gothic literature. So go for it.
@soboksob They are. I know they're a bit difficult to read since the vocabulary feels archaic but trust me it's all worth it in the end. There's a reason that the book has stood the test of time. Don't skim. Savour every word
@dykensteinery If you don't mind reading ebooks all I'd suggest checking https://t.co/yBDl4LCsyh since all of Shelley's works are in the public domain. If you can't find what you're looking for then DM me I have an epub of all her works collected in one volume.
@atgriffinshoard @irismaybooks @zaby_foynott @caitevergreene It does take some time getting used to the alternating POVs on every other chapter and the lack of punctuation doesn't help either. Peter's chapter might seem chaotic and all over the place at the start but the plot and the dialogue make up for it.
@irismaybooks I'm currently reading Madonna in a Fur Coat. Finished the first part yesterday. Excited to see how it goes. Also jealous of your copy of Dante's Divine Comedy.
