Thank God it is Jumu'ah. Jumu'ah Mubarak to the blessed Muslim ummah. May Almighty God, the Creator of al-Jannah and Earth, hear your prayers as you gather for Salatul-Jumu'ah and approve them, even as I pray that He grants you forgiveness of your sins.

May He give you the energy to fast, pray and meditate on your teachings of al-Quran and the Hadiths of the prophet as you congregate for Salatul-Jumu'ah.

May your dua help you attain Sabr, develop Mahabat Allah in you, and result in shifa to all those currently experiencing ill health.

And having seen fit to let us see another Jumu'ah, may Al-Ḥakam (The Giver of Justice) fill our hearts with Iman, Sabr and Taqwa. May the Almighty grant us the best among humanity. May our lives benefit others, even as we approach the Maulud of prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalaam).

Finally, may barakah be bestowed on the Muslim Ummah and their neighbours because, as we know, any dua from a sincere and pure heart is never rejected. Amin.

There is a huge difference between faith and religion, and between Godliness and churchiness!

Artificial Intelligence will threaten your marriage if it focuses on coitus, childbearing, child-rearing, and housekeeping rather than human companionship and life partnerships. Why? Because AI can now give you a robotic girlfriend. Technology can get a woman pregnant through a sperm donor from any race she wants. She doesn't have to meet him, and he doesn't have to pay child support. Social systems exist where, if you have money, others can raise your children for you. You can even get governesses, nannies and au pairs online, and they arrive at your house the next day. In other words, the only thing AI, technology and modernity can provide is a genuine heart-to-heart connection with a real flesh-and-blood person. Everything else in a marriage, other than that warmth and bonding, can now be outsourced to AI or technology!

Delaying gratification is good. It gives you the discipline to endure short-term pain so you can enjoy long-term gain. But there is a catch. Too much of anything is bad. When you get into your fifties, like me, delaying gratification isn't always wise. Bear the yoke in your youth, not when you have your wisdom tooth. How much is your life expectancy? Enjoy your gratification now. Travel. Buy or lease that car. If you are a widower or widow and it still works, marry for pleasure, not for childbearing. You did not come to this life to suffer. So offer yourself a buffer before you suffer death.

Thank God it is Jumu'ah. On this blessed day, I salute the Muslim Ummah and all Ahl al-Kitāb. My prayer for you today is that Almighty God will grant the Ummah and other people of the Book barakah, sabr, maghfira, rida, hidayah, shifa, salama, and tawfeeq in their daily jihad of self-improvement.

We also pray for lasting, peaceful religious coexistence among Nigerians and in other parts of the world where multi-religion, multi-ethnicity, and multiculturalism are realities.

That is why I have maintained in the past and still advocate that every Christian pupil must mandatorily study Islamic Religious Knowledge, whilst each Muslim student should compulsorily learn Christian Religious Knowledge, while children from Traditional African Religious backgrounds should learn either of the two.

Not for the purpose of conversion, but so we can understand each other as a people, because it is impossible to forget our differences. In my opinion, a better course of action is to manage such differences by raising awareness.

As we demonstrate cultural fusion in our daily lives, may it permeate our hearts and affect our interactions with other Nigerians and the global community.

Use your capital to invest your way out of poverty, because it is almost impossible to work your way out of penury.

And when they marry, their weddings are typically modest affairs. Yet, Saudi Arabia has one of the highest life expectancies on Earth at 80 years, and among the lowest divorce rates on the planet at 2.18 divorces per 1,000 marriages. Perhaps we can learn one or two things from the Saudis. Spending money on the living and thereby extending their lives is better than wasting funds on their burial to extend your ego, and having modest nuptials leaves you with more money and energy to make your marriage a success rather than just an excess!

Can you do without your salary? If the answer is no, then you are addicted to salary. That is why you should invest. Because unless you can do without your salary, you are a person with an addiction who is controlled by your supplier, which in this case is your employer. Saying stuff like 'how much am I even earning that I should invest?' That is not the point. Every month or week, your boss gives you your salary, which is like an egg. What you want to do is not to eat that egg, but to wait until it hatches into a Hen. A hen lays an egg daily. Therefore, when you have your own egg, your salary becomes an optional income, rather than a necessary one that you can't do without.

But when you start comparing yourself to other people and where you are to where they are, you may end up with an inferiority complex. There will always be someone ahead of you in life. And even that person ahead of you has others ahead of them. Simply making progress and being better today than you were yesterday is enough. Anything else leads to self-destruction instead of self-improvement!
