The completion of Lafto Hospital marks an important milestone in Ethiopiaβs healthcare sector. The hospital is expected to support the countryβs broader goal of positioning Addis Ababa as a center for medical tourism while helping reduce the foreign currency spent on medical treatment abroad.

The event under the theme βData Sovereignty for Policy Autonomy,β which is undergoing in AA convention centre is meaningful as far as developing an integrated, reliable and efficient national data is concerned. It is informative and exceptional.
Africaβs continued exclusion from permanent representation in the Security Council is a historical injustice & indefensible.
This is not about privilege or symbolism.
This is about ensuring that the Council is fit for purpose & able to act with legitimacy and effectiveness.
I found 'Made in Ethiopia' Expo 2026, an industrial showcase currently held at the Addis International Convention Center (AICC).
Encouraging to see local manufacturing, technology, and startups.
Happy to see as well progresses on our capacity of organizing expos and exhibition.
Today, we commemorate the 85th Anniversary of Victory Dayβthe historic moment in 1941, signaling the end of five years of fascist occupation.
βWe honor the legendary patriots, the heroes, and the brave mothers and fathers who sacrificed everything to ensure we inherited a sovereign nation.
The day also marks the return of the emperor from exile to his capital and hung our flag high on the skt of Addis Ababa.
This policy brief examines how the legacy of the 1991 London Declaration and Eritreaβs independence has left Ethiopia in a structurally vulnerable landlocked position, increasingly at odds with its economic and strategic ambitions.
It unpacks Addis Ababaβs shift toward βfunctional sovereigntyβ as a pragmatic effort to secure reliable Red Sea access, while noting that this approach has heightened regional anxieties over territorial integrity and power asymmetries.
The brief recommends that Ethiopiaβs maritime aspirations will be most sustainable if pursued through cooperative and regionally embedded frameworks rather than unilateral strategies.

The story of the newly inaugurated Arada Park is one of profound transformation, a landmark project officially unveiled today in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. What was once a 40-hectare area of neglected, hazardous, and dilapidated housing has been reimagined into a premier multi-purpose urban destination. This project isnβt just a park; it is a masterclass in integrated infrastructure and land-use efficiency. By renovating over 700 existing homes and buildings, we have ensured that development uplifts the community.
