In the tough terrains of Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa, the brave troops of Operation Hadin Kai have sustained relentless, intelligence-driven offensives against Boko Haram and ISWAP. These operations are producing clear, decisive results that are weakening terrorist networks and restoring hope to long-suffering communities.
May 2026 was a devastating month for the terrorists. Coordinated land and air operations struck deep into Sambisa Forest, the Mandara Mountains, Southern Tumbuns, and Lake Chad fringes. Camps were cleared, logistics networks shattered, and multiple attacks foiled. In one major engagement in Yobe, over 50 terrorists were neutralized in a single devastating counteroffensive. High-profile ISWAP leaders were eliminated through precision strikes, including key figures in joint operations.
This momentum has continued strongly into June 2026:
Troops overran a heavily fortified JAS stronghold in the Mandara Mountains, rescuing 360 abducted civilians in one of the largest hostage recovery operations in recent times.
In Biu LGA, Borno State, 92 more civilians were rescued from terrorist captivity.
Coordinated dawn offensives across Borno neutralized over 18 terrorists, recovered heavy weapons, and successfully repelled drone-assisted attacks.
Sustained pressure has forced high-ranking ISWAP commanders — including explosives specialists — to surrender, exposing collapsing morale and command structures within the terrorist groups.
Additional successes include the arrest of logistics suppliers, recovery of arms caches, and severe disruption of terrorist freedom of movement.
