Hear me out. We all love salt, and it’s one of the most common flavour enhancers in cooking. But many seasonings (chicken, beef, shrimp seasonings...) contains a significant amount of salt and so people cook with just seasonings. So depending on the dish, you can sometimes season your food without adding extra salt, except for meals that require just salt like rice. So don’t be surprised when you see someone cook without adding salt.

Beans taking forever to cook? Don't add salt when cooking. Add salt after it's cooked. A tea spoon of baking soda when cooking can help soften beans faster

Rice too wet? Cover with a clean kitchen napkin under the lid and let it steam on low heat.

Rice too hard ? Sprinkle in a little hot water, cover tightly with wet napkin, and steam on low heat for a few more minutes.

The Accra High Court has dismissed an application by Faiza Seidu-Wuni, wife of former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) CEO, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, seeking permission to travel to the United Kingdom for her son's medical treatment.

The court ruled that no sufficient evidence had been presented to show that the child's condition could not be treated in Ghana.

Faiza Seidu-Wuni is currently standing trial alongside her husband over allegations of financial misappropriation during his tenure as CEO of NAFCO.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has arrested 46-year-old coconut trader Emmanuel Awotwi for allegedly converting a designated pedestrian walkway into an unauthorised storage and trading space, in breach of the Assembly’s Control of Hawkers By-law, 2017, Sub-section (d).

The suspect was arrested after an AMA task force found him occupying a substantial portion of a bus stop along Professor John Evans Atta Mills High Street, near the Arts Centre, with more than 500 coconuts stored for sale.
