Interesting to see this hit auction after the big Bartman sale. Bartman is the 1st card in the set, but I believe this is the best card in the 1990 set. Homer’s first appearance, & no dispute that it’s his true Rookie Card

@beckettcollect - are you killing the database?

I started talking about its vital role in our hobby when you were acquired by Collectors Universe. My fear was that CU wouldn’t see the vital role it plays in our menu of data options.

Please tell me my fears were misled and that both @beckettcollect and @PSAcard haven’t forgotten collectors.

The Beckett checklist/info database is irreplacable. The search function isn’t a nice to have - it’s a vital tool for researching the history of our hobby.

Can a decision maker on your team contact me to discuss this? Please? I would love to explain to you why you must not eliminate the database.

As a hobby, we cannot afford to lose this tool and as shareholders in the hobby, I implore you to hear hobbyists on this topic.

As the hobby gets more expensive, we will no doubt see smarter criminals and more advanced counterfeits. Sadly, I’m sure this problem will continue to get worse before it gets better

@dcsports87 discusses what to look for on the fake red and gold refractors they received.

Looks like the perpetrator used magenta /399 to make the red /5 and yellow /275 to make the gold /50.

Wipe the serial # off and somehow add a new serial #.

Very Interesting! Charts on the PSA 6-8 also mimic the pullback seen on the PSA 9, while the PSA 10 is still holding strong. @HouseOfJordans do you think this points to collectors getting more selective and moving away from mid-tier copies in favor of true top end examples?

To me this looks more intentional and likely manipulation.

As much as I love Shaq cards, I’ve noticed quite a bit of this type of strange behavior on some of his auctions. Worth noting!
