Ellis from X confirmed very soon likes and reposts will be removed from the UI

In its place could be gestures or new pop up menus

I think this is EXCELLENT news

Right now there is just way too much focus on engagement on X. Since ad rev came out EVERYONE has been focused on engagement

This will be a BIG step towards keeping the focus on conversation, not engagement

You can still see your likes deeper in the UI, but when scrolling the app your eyes will go to the posts, not the likes

I LOVE this and largely think it levels the field for smaller accounts

What are your thoughts? Do you think this will make X better? Reduce engagement overall?
