d) About 20-30% people knew about Gate exam, so this outreach will definitely help the students. Since this is the primary exam for getting into a MTech or MSc program, please tell your friends and colleagues, so that they can start preparing for next year's exam. π
As a part of outreach efforts by @iiscbangalore and @GATE24_Official , me and Ramesh (RCM) gave talks on IISc, GATE exam and @Physics_at_IISc in Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology (JCET), Ottapalam.
All the best to students appearing for #gate2024 exam!

c) There were discussions on jobs vs research. My suggestion- do a BTech project, or a masters project, and then decide if you want to do industrial research, or continue in academia

b) The after-talk session was better where several students asked questions on doing masters vs getting jobs directly. My suggestion- do a masters if you get into a great college. You improve your job prospects.

A few takeaways for the discussion with 3rd year https://t.co/pHs1bLmV3w engineering students:
a) When asked about their next steps, only 5% people said they would like to go for masters/higher studies, and only 15% said they would go for jobs. The rest 80% were undecided.
@ACTFibernet the ACTFibernet app bot is terrible. It does not allow me to speak to a customer care representative (human) at all. I can't even raise a ticket if the bot doesn't suggest it.
Samples created using modified (oxygen-assisted) chemical vapor deposition are superior in quality over exfoliated samples. Identifying the role of oxygen complexes, defects and strain, this study has implications for applications in #electronics#quantumtechnologies
New preprint at https://t.co/wiERToXU1Z . Excellent collaboration with Sai Gautam Gopalakrishnan's group. Briefly, we identify the type of defects and amount of strain in differently prepared atomically thin MoS2 by a comprehensive experimental-theoretical approach.

Our answer is 10^6. Please see the image below to see the calculation. As we said, there are no correct answers, but 10^6 seems to be a reasonable number. @ESPNcric_stats@ESPNcricinfo@msdhoni
