Beware, my dear brother, of the
signs of false righteousness! -Ibn Uthaymin رحمه اللّٰهُ
1. Sleeping through the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers.
2. Lack of humility and presence in prayer.
3. Delaying the obligatory prayers.
4. Neglecting Sunnah and voluntary acts of worship.
5. Abandoning the recitation of the Qur’an.
6. Forsaking daily supplications and remembrance of Allah.
7. Bad manners and poor character.
8. Arrogance in refusing advice.
9. Taking minor sins lightly.
10. Wasting time.
11. Being engrossed in worldly matters without a meaningful cause.
12. Excessive laughter.
13. Preoccupation with distractions and entertainment.
14. Neglecting the pursuit of
knowledge.
15. Placing one’s heart’s attachment on people, which may lead to shirk.
16. Over-focusing on outward appearance while neglecting inner character.
17. Abandoning the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
18. Breaking promises.
19. Clinging to pre-Islamic ignorance habits and traditions.
20. Failing to exercise caution regarding doubtful matters.
21. Associating with people of innovation.
22. Ignorance of the fundamental principles of the Ahlus-Sunnah.
23. Forsaking the supporters of the Sunnah
24. Failing to feel anger for the sake of Allah.
