Students first laid a flat sheet across two desks. The paper sagged and the bottle dropped ~ classic weak bending stiffness.

Then they accordion-folded it. Ridges turned a floppy sheet into a mini beam. The bottle stood.

That’s physics: folding increases the second moment of area. More material sits farther from the centre, so the paper resists bending the way corrugated cardboard or an I-beam does. Shape beats thickness.
