This hits hard, but I couldn't be happier that @TSNVicRauter is going out on his own terms. Pure class in every sense of the word. I'm reminded from this story that I was in the building in Kamloops for the 1986 Canadian Mixed Championship when Vic called his first game for TSN, and here we are, 40 years later. I wish him the very best for the future!
The ‘Voice of Curling’ is calling it a career.
Vic Rauter’s remarkable 40-year curling broadcast career will come to a close this weekend following the World Men’s Curling Championship.

Absolutely shattering news on so many levels. One of the really good guys on the curling and CFL scene. Man, this hits hard. Thinking of his family and media colleagues across Canada this morning.
We are sad to hear the news today of the passing of longtime Winnipeg curling journalist Ted Wyman after a valiant battle with cancer. Ted covered our sport with passion and integrity and earned the trust of curlers and curling fans across Canada with his knowledge of the sport and its people. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ted’s family, friends and media colleagues across the country.
I grew up in #Kamloops, I live here now, and I'm struck with unbelievable sadness at the news today that the iconic Red Bridge has been destroyed by fire. I prefer to remember it as it was captured on canvas by my friend Laura Zerebeski 10 years ago. You can see more of her amazing work at https://t.co/QsiSRW0THO.
🚨 NEW EPISODE 🚨 In this week's episode of Curling for Change, Wil Robertson discusses sexism and misogyny in curling and what needs to change with @AlCameronCC, @wee_nixon and @SmileyLaurie2.

Make the double and roll buried. 😎 No problem for Brent Laing 🇨🇦 whose line and weight are spot-on.

Six days into the Brier and not a single emailed fan complaint about players screaming too loud. Truly wish I could say the same during the Scotties. But, of course, I can't. It's International Women's Day, and you should read this column about why that crap needs to stop.
Hoping that A) Dave has a speedy recovery; B) Mark knocks it out of the park as the acting HC; and C) that @jlefeb25's fumblerooski play is finally put into the playbook after years of being ignored by DD.
Dave Dickenson will not be on @calstampeders sideline tonight. Ass’t head coach and special teams coord. Mark Kilam will be acting head coach. Offensive play calling will be collaborative effort. GM John Hufnagel will be on sidelines in support role for the entire coaching staff
On the list of jobs I'd hate to have right now, @AirCanada customer service would be near the bottom; I feel for them every time I call. Big shoutout to Henry in the Toronto call centre for sorting me out after a cancellation, and doing it with class, patience & professionalism.
✨ New Chapter ✨ I’m delighted to share that come September 1st I will be embarking on a new journey in curling club development as a team member at Curling Canada.

@TranBC Ah, shoot. Found the picture on your site. I wasn't far off, and I've actually driven that road a number of times. Awesome pic. Please give the photo credit to the photographer when you post the answer.
@BobIrvingCJOB Could NOT agree more. I see SAM or WILL linebacker in print, and I hear them on broadcasts, too often. How many people know what that means? Dime package? Nickel package? Use plain English, not football-ese!
@DerekJHutcheson@twinetime14 Which is why we held the symposium last week, to have those conversations and keep it at the forefront for all levels of curling — club, Member Association and nationally. Also, the announcement was promoted on all of Curling Canada's SM channels.
