A 1994 movie became 3 TV series — SG-1, Atlantis & Universe — spanning 17 seasons, 2 addtional movies and over 350 hours of television.

Then Amazon cancelled a new Stargate series on June 2, 2026, reportedly because executives feared it wouldn’t reach beyond the existing fanbase.

The fandom’s response?

• Fans launched #SaveStargate within days.
• A petition passed 12,500+ signatures almost immediately.
• Fans flew a #SaveStargate banner over Amazon MGM’s headquarters.
• The campaign took the fight to Times Square.
. International meetin the same day in , Uk, Netherlands,France,Germany, France, Canada, Australia.
• Fans organised events around San Diego Comic-Con, including another flyover and a Stargate D&D module.
• Meanwhile, Stargate conventions continue, with Starfury: Ascension in Birmingham this month featuring a huge lineup of SG-1/Atlantis stars.
• And Michael Shanks is still actively engaging with the fandom — including launching a new Stargate podcast in July.

Cancelled in June. Still fighting in August.

That isn't a dead fandom.

The only thing we have ever asked of you is to give us a continuation of Stargate.

Not a reboot.
Not a remake.
Not another reimagining of the same story.

A continuation.

You had done exactly that with the series Martin Gero was creating.
He understood what Stargate was, respected everything that had come before, and most importantly, gave fans the chance to see that universe move forward rather than simply starting over.

That is what we want.

We don't need you to erase what came before and rebuild it from the ground up. We don't need a new cast playing slightly different versions of characters we already know. We want the next chapter of the story.

Stargate has an enormous universe to explore. There are still countless worlds, civilizations, threats and mysteries waiting to be discovered. There are stories that were never finished, characters whose journeys could continue, and an entire multi generation of fans who would love the opportunity to return to that universe.

The audience is still here. The passion is still here. The appetite for Stargate is still here.

So please, don't give us another reboot.

Give us Stargate — continued.

Pick up the story. Build upon the mythology. Respect the legacy. Introduce new characters alongside the ones we already love. Let the universe evolve naturally, just as it always did.

We aren't asking you to recreate the past.

We're asking you to let Stargate have a future.

7 reasons to uncancel Stargate and revive Martin Gero’s Stargate series instead of rebooting it:

1. The Stargate already works. No need to reinvent the wheel when we literally have a ring that opens portals.

2. Continuity is a feature, not a bug. The galaxy has history. Let’s use it.

3. We’ve rebooted enough things. At this point, even the Goa’uld are probably rolling their eyes.

4. Martin Gero knows the universe. Give him the keys—not a blank piece of paper.

5. The fans remember.
You can’t just neuralize 29+ years of Stargate lore and call it “fresh.”

6. New stories don’t require erasing old ones. Meet new worlds, new characters, new threats—keep the old legends.

7. Because the answer is obviously “Kree!” Not “let’s reboot it.”

Do not reboot.
Uncancel the series.
Dial the damn gate. 🌀
