📍Sofie, Bullgari - Takimi Ministror i Procesit të Bashkëpunimit të Evropës Juglindore, Ministri Hoxha: Rruga e anëtarësimit të Shqipërisë në BE ka hyrë në fazën më përcaktuese.

Ministri për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme, Ferit Hoxha mori pjesë në Takimin Ministror të Procesit të Bashkëpunimit të Evropës Juglindore, #SEECP, çka shënon njëkohësisht edhe 30-vjetorin e këtij procesi.

Ministri theksoi se bashkëpunimi ekonomik dhe integrimi rajonal duhet të mbeten në qendër të përpjekjeve tona të përbashkëta.

"Procesi i Berlinit, Plani i Rritjes, Tregu i Përbashkët Rajonal dhe nismat më të gjera të ndërlidhjes, përfshirë Korridorin VIII dhe projekte të tjera strategjike, vazhdojnë të ofrojnë mundësi konkrete për thellimin e integrimit ekonomik, rritjen e konkurrueshmërisë dhe përmirësimin e jetës së qytetarëve tanë", tha Hoxha.

Rruga jonë drejt anëtarësimit në Bashkimin Evropian, sipas Ministrit, ka hyrë në fazën e saj më dinamike dhe më përcaktuese.

"Objektivi ynë mbetet ambicioz, por realist: përfundimi i negociatave të anëtarësimit brenda vitit 2027 dhe anëtarësimi i plotë deri në vitin 2030. Një proces i suksesshëm zgjerimi, i bazuar në meritë, mund të funksionojë vetëm nëse është i besueshëm dhe i qëndrueshëm nga të dyja palët. 📍Sofia, Bulgaria - I was pleased to have a meaningful exchange with the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Mihaela Dotsova. 🇦🇱🇧🇬

We reaffirmed the strong partnership between #Albania and #Bulgaria and our shared commitment to further expanding cooperation in key areas such as the economy, energy, tourism, and connectivity. In this context, we underscored the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, including through parliamentary friendship groups, as a valuable instrument for strengthening bilateral ties.

We also discussed Albania’s EU integration path, the importance of continued support from EU Member States, and the strategic significance of the #European future of the #WesternBalkans for the stability, security, and prosperity of both the region and the European Union.

Finally, we highlighted the important role of the minorities in our respective countries in fostering people-to-people connections and further strengthening the cultural, historical, and human ties that bring our nations closer together.

📍Sofia -- An excellent opportunity for an engaging and forward-looking fireside chat at the @ECFR event on “EU Enlargement and the Western Balkans”, hosted by Vessela Tcherneva and the Embassy of Albania in Bulgaria. 🇦🇱🇧🇬

Our discussion focused on the renewed momentum behind EU #enlargement and the place of the Western Balkans in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving geopolitical environment. I was pleased to share #Albania’s perspective on the opportunities and responsibilities that come with this new phase of the enlargement process, as well as the significant progress our country has made on its path towards #EU membership.

In today’s strategic context, enlargement is no longer viewed solely as a policy of transformation. It has become a strategic investment in Europe’s security, stability, competitiveness, and long-term resilience. The lessons of recent years have made it clear that a stronger, more united, and geopolitically capable Europe cannot be fully achieved without the integration of the #WesternBalkans into the EU.

I emphasized that Albania’s EU accession process, now entering its most decisive and consequential phase, is far more than a foreign policy objective. It is a national aspiration that enjoys broad and enduring support across the political spectrum and throughout Albanian society.

Driven by an ambitious reform agenda and a strong commitment to delivering tangible results, our European journey reflects not only institutional transformation but also a clear national and societal choice about the future we want to build. I also underlined that a credible, merit-based enlargement process is in the interest of both candidate countries and the EU itself.

#Albania remains fully focused on and committed to maintaining the current momentum, accelerating reforms, and advancing decisively through the negotiation process. Our objective is ambitious but realistic: to conclude accession negotiations by 2027 and achieve full membership by 2030.

Një mundësi e shkëlqyer për një bisedë permbjatësore në aktivitetin e @ECFR mbi “Zgjerimin e BE-së dhe Ballkanin Perëndimor”, organizuar nga Vessela Tcherneva dhe Ambasada e Shqipërisë në Bullgari. 🇦🇱🇧🇬

Diskutimi u përqendrua tek rëndësia që ka marrë procesi i #zgjerimit të BE-së dhe te vendi që zë Ballkani Perëndimor në një mjedis gjeopolitik gjithnjë e më kompleks dhe në ndryshim të shpejtë. Pata kënaqësinë të ndaj perspektivën e #Shqipërisë mbi mundësitë dhe përgjegjësitë që sjell kjo fazë e re e procesit të zgjerimit, si edhe mbi progresin domethënës që vendi ynë ka arritur në rrugën drejt anëtarësimit në #BE.

Në kontekstin e sotëm strategjik, zgjerimi nuk shihet më vetëm si një politikë transformimi. Ai është shndërruar në një investim strategjik për sigurinë, stabilitetin, konkurrueshmërinë dhe qëndrueshmërinë afatgjatë të BE-së. Zhvillimet e viteve të fundit e kanë bërë të qartë se një Evropë më e fortë, më e bashkuar dhe më e aftë për t’u përballur me sfidat gjeopolitike nuk mund të realizohet plotësisht pa integrimin e #BallkanitPerëndimor në Bashkimin Europian.

Theksova se procesi i anëtarësimit të Shqipërisë në BE, i cili po hyn në fazën e tij më vendimtare dhe më përcaktuese, është shumë më tepër sesa një objektiv i politikës së jashtme. Ai është një aspiratë kombëtare që gëzon mbështetje të gjerë dhe të qëndrueshme në të gjithë spektrin politik dhe në mbarë shoqërinë shqiptare.

I udhëhequr nga një axhendë ambicioze reformash dhe nga një angazhim i palëkundur për të prodhuar rezultate konkrete, rrugëtimi ynë europian pasqyron jo vetëm transformimin e institucioneve, por edhe një zgjedhje të qartë kombëtare dhe shoqërore për të ardhmen që duam të ndërtojmë. Po ashtu, nënvizova se një proces zgjerimi i besueshëm dhe i bazuar në meritë është në interes si të vendeve kandidate, ashtu edhe të vetë Bashkimit Evropian.

#Shqipëria mbetet plotësisht e angazhuar për të ruajtur rritmin aktual, për të përshpejtuar reformat dhe për të avancuar me vendosmëri në procesin e negociatave. Objektivi ynë është ambicioz, por realist: përmbyllja e negociatave të anëtarësimit deri në vitin 2027 dhe anëtarësimi i plotë në Bashkimin Evropianropian deri në vitin 2030.

Albania’s path towards EU membership is not merely a regulatory or institutional exercise; it is, above all, a profound economic transformation. In this process, the business community is not simply a stakeholder but a key driver of the country’s preparedness, competitiveness, and long-term success within the European Union.

Our discussions focused on the importance of strengthening public-private dialogue and on learning from #Ireland’s successful experience in building effective cooperation between businesses, public institutions, and European structures.

Particular attention was devoted to preparing Albanian enterprises for the opportunities and responsibilities that come with participation in the EU Single Market. Enhancing competitiveness, fostering innovation, aligning with European standards, and increasing the capacity of businesses to operate in a more integrated economic environment will be essential to ensuring that Albania fully benefits from membership.

Looking ahead, institutionalising structured dialogue with the private sector across the various negotiation clusters will be crucial. A successful accession process requires not only government ownership but also the active engagement of businesses, whose experience, expertise, and adaptability will be indispensable in making Albania’s European integration both sustainable and transformative.

📍 Dublin -- Always a distinct moment to engage with civil society and the think tank community.

I was pleased to participate in a roundtable discussion at the Institute of International and European Affairs @IIEA, engaging in a thoughtful and forward-looking exchange on “Albania’s European Journey”, a journey that has now entered its most dynamic, demanding, and consequential phase since the country embarked on its democratic transformation more than three decades ago.

The discussion provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on Albania’s reform progress, the renewed momentum behind EU enlargement, and the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead as we advance towards our strategic objective of European Union membership. We also discussed the broader dynamics of EU #enlargement at a time when geopolitical developments have reinforced the strategic importance of a credible and merit-based accession process.

We reflected on Ireland’s longstanding support for enlargement and on the important role the upcoming #Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union can play in advancing discussions on the future of Europe and the integration of aspiring member states.

Si sot, 148 vjet më parë, Lidhja e Prizrenit bashkoi shqiptarët rreth një ideali të përbashkët: mbrojtjes së të drejtave, identitetit dhe të ardhmes sonë të sigurt kombëtare.

Shqiptarët sot jetojnë më të lirë, më të sigurt dhe më të zhvilluar se në çdo periudhë tjetër të historisë së tyre moderne. #Shqipëria është anëtare e NATO-s dhe në rrugën drejt anëtarësimit në Bashkimin Evropian, ndërsa #Kosova ka konsoliduar shtetësinë e saj dhe aspiratat euroatlantike të mbarë kombit shqiptar janë më pranë realizimit se kurrë më parë.

Trashëgimia e Lidhjes së Prizrenit nuk na kujton vetëm sakrificat e së kaluarës, por edhe përgjegjësinë për të ndërtuar një të ardhme me më shumë demokraci, zhvillim, mirëqenie dhe mundësi për brezat që vijnë.

Nëse themeluesit e Lidhjes së Prizrenit hodhën themelet e vetëdijes sonë politike kombëtare, detyra jonë sot është të ndërtojmë mbi ato themele dhe të çojmë përpara amanetin e tyre.

Teksa afrohemi drejt jubileut të 150-vjetorit në vitin 2028, le të punojmë që ai të na gjejë më të bashkuar, më të fortë në institucione dhe më afër familjes evropiane, duke krijuar më shumë mundësi, mirëqenie dhe siguri për shqiptarët kudo që jetojnë.

Our discussions highlighted the importance of further deepening political dialogue and expanding cooperation in key areas such as energy, infrastructure and strategic connectivity. In this context, we underscored the significance of #Corridor VIII as a vital link between the Adriatic and Black Sea regions, with substantial potential to enhance trade, mobility and sustainable economic development across #SoutheastEurope.

We also exchanged views on regional and international developments, reaffirming our shared commitment to peace, security, good-neighbourly relations and the European future of the #WesternBalkans. Albania highly values Bulgaria’s consistent support for our EU accession process and its continued advocacy for a credible enlargement policy.

We further highlighted the important role of national minorities in our respective countries as bridges of friendship and cooperation.

What began as a genuine aspiration has, over the years, evolved into a lasting and impactful project. Today, it stands as the region’s leading political forum, fostering dialogue, building trust, and strengthening good neighbourly relations. In doing so, it has demonstrated that regional ownership, mutual respect, and a shared vision can contribute meaningfully to greater stability, prosperity, and integration across our region.

Economic cooperation and regional integration must remain at the core of our collective efforts. The Berlin Process, the Growth Plan, the Common Regional Market, and broader connectivity initiatives, including #CorridorVIII and other strategic projects, continue to offer tangible opportunities to deepen economic integration, enhance competitiveness, and improve the lives of our citizens.

Our #European accession path has entered its most dynamic and consequential phase. Our objective remains ambitious yet realistic: to conclude accession negotiations by 2027 and achieve full membership in the European Union by 2030.

A successful merit-based enlargement process can only succeed if it functions credibly and consistently on both sides. This understanding was reaffirmed last week in Tivat, where EU and Western Balkan leaders agreed on the need to inject renewed political momentum and strategic vision into the enlargement agenda. We stand ready, fully committed to delivering on our responsibilities and advancing the reforms necessary to achieve this goal.

Albania will continue to invest in #regional cooperation. While the progress achieved thus far is undeniable, vulnerabilities remain. If left unaddressed, they risk undermining stability, slowing development, and creating space for external influences that do not align with our shared European aspirations. For this reason, deeper cooperation and stronger interconnections are not merely a regional imperative; they are a strategic investment in the security, stability, and prosperity of the region and Europe as a whole.

Our sincere appreciation to #Bulgaria for its successful Chairmanship and exemplary leadership.

Ajo që nisi si një aspiratë e sinqertë është shndërruar ndër vite në një projekt të qëndrueshëm dhe me ndikim të rëndësishëm. Sot, SEECP qëndron si forumi politik kryesor i rajonit, duke nxitur dialogun, ndërtuar besimin dhe forcuar marrëdhëniet e fqinjësisë së mirë. Në këtë mënyrë, ai ka dëshmuar se përgjegjësia rajonale, respekti i ndërsjellë dhe një vizion i përbashkët mund të kontribuojnë në mënyrë domethënëse për më shumë stabilitet, mirëqenie dhe integrim në të gjithë rajonin tonë.

📍 Dublin, Ireland — A very productive meeting with @HMcEntee, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, reaffirming the excellent bilateral relations between Albania and Ireland. 🇦🇱 🇮🇪

We held a constructive exchange on our shared objective of further strengthening political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation across a range of key sectors.

We agreed on the need to explore concrete opportunities to strengthen our economic partnership, with a particular focus on trade, investment, tourism, digital services, and innovation. I was pleased to highlight the valuable contribution of the Albanian #diaspora in Ireland, which continues to serve as an important bridge between our economies and societies.

In this context, I informed Minister McEntee of the Albanian Government’s decision to open an #Embassy in Dublin in the near future, a significant step that will further deepen our bilateral partnership and enhance cooperation between our two countries.

I expressed our deep appreciation for Ireland’s steadfast support for EU enlargement and for Albania’s #European accession path, particularly as we look ahead to Ireland’s upcoming #Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

I also shared an update on Albania’s steady progress in the accession process, underscoring our strong commitment to maintaining the momentum of reforms as we advance toward the next phase of negotiations, the closing of chapters.

On regional and global developments, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to the stability, security, and prosperity of Europe, including the #WesternBalkans as an integral part of its future.

After my recent visit to #Rome, this was another valuable opportunity to reaffirm the exceptional quality of Albania–Italy relations, rooted in deep historical ties, vibrant people-to-people connections, and an intensive political dialogue that continues to expand across an ever-growing range of areas.

Particular attention was devoted to strengthening our economic #partnership through increased trade and investment flows, enhanced connectivity, and the creation of new opportunities for cooperation between our business communities. #Italy is Albania’s leading economic partner, and we see considerable potential to further deepen this mutually beneficial relationship.

I reiterated #Albania’s sincere appreciation for Italy’s longstanding support for our development, modernization, and our #European accession path. The successful conclusion of negotiations on the gradual elimination of #roaming charges between the European Union and the #WesternBalkans is set to deliver one of the most tangible and meaningful benefits of European integration for citizens and businesses alike.

This achievement will enhance connectivity, facilitate travel and communication, strengthen people-to-people contacts, and create new opportunities for trade, investment, and economic cooperation across Europe. It is also expected to provide a significant boost to mobility and #tourism, particularly in #Albania, by making travel more convenient, affordable, and accessible for millions of European visitors.

More than a technical accomplishment, it represents a concrete step towards the gradual integration of the Western Balkans into the EU Single Market and a more connected #European space. It demonstrates how the enlargement process can generate real and immediate benefits for citizens, even before accession.

Bringing the Western Balkans closer to the European Union must be reflected not only through policies and institutions, but also through practical improvements that people can experience in their everyday lives. Lower communication costs, greater mobility, and stronger regional and European links are clear examples of how integration delivers tangible results.

These commitments were at the heart of today’s discussions at the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, where leaders reaffirmed their shared determination to accelerate the region’s gradual integration into the European Union through concrete measures that bring citizens and businesses closer together.

A stronger partnership between the European Union and the Western Balkans is an investment not only in the region’s future, but also in Europe’s security, competitiveness, resilience, and cohesion.
