Author of L.A.’s Last Street Cop:Surviving Hollywood Freaks, the Aryan Brotherhood, and the L.A.P.D.'s Homicidal Vendetta Against Me. Dedicated cop and veteran.
Happy to report that my book, L.A.'s Last Street Cop, now has won a SECOND award -- as a Finalist in the 2020 Best Book Awards in the "Autobiography/Memoir" category. That's the second award this month! Stay tuned, and thank you for your readership and support.
After arresting a suspect for a Hate Crime/Vandalism, @LAPDHollenbeck knew there was more that could be done. They partnered with East LA Auto Sales, @Badgeofheart and @LAPPL to get the victim a new car—and remind us all that in this world, we can all go the extra mile.
Here's a very nice endorsement on my personal FB page! " 50 pages into your book; phenomenally written! ... reminds me of Stephen King. Note: had to add like-genre authors: You are every bit as talented as Joe Nezbo and Michael Connelly. Kudos Sir! https://t.co/n1kgTwhAN3 #LAPD
I am delighted to announce that my book, L.A.'s Last Street Cop, has been named as a finalist in the Independent Author Network Book of the Year Awards!

900 new NYPD recruits sworn in today. After six months of training, it’s these men and women who will be on the street protecting New Yorkers. My thanks to them all for having the courage and commitment to serve our communities — one of the most honorable professions. Congrats!
On Tue, 10/27, I visited the Salvation Army Bell Shelter & presented a $17.5K check from proceeds raised thru LASD Veteran’s Patch sales. As a military veteran it was honor to do this & see the shelter furnished with amenities where veterans in need can live life a little better.
The Authors Show is replaying an interview I did with them covering my early life, my experience dealing with violent gangs in LA, the horror of an officer facing potentially lethal situations, my whistleblowing and more. https://t.co/cZ97lCQVSS

Amazon Review: "This is not your ordinary cop book. It’s a story of family, love found and lost, overcoming enormous obstacles as a youth, the trauma of going to war and life on the battlefield in a place called the City of Los Angeles."

[Page 128] I didn’t want to die. I kept thinking, what if he bolts back inside the home and starts shooting his family? Or what if he turns and hysterically starts firing...? He continued to disregard my commands and took a couple more steps toward me..."

From my Vietnam experience to LAPD corruption and unsolved crimes, here's a wide-ranging interview I did during the summer with Barb DiGiulio of Toronto's NewsTalk 1010 (iHeart Radio). https://t.co/N5L3sDme3c...

I am a single, working mother, raising two beautiful daughters.
I am a public servant.
I am an athlete.
I am an Angeleno.
I am a Los Angeles Police Officer.
Three assault weapons (determined to be ghost guns), 1 shotgun, 2 handguns and over 2,000 rounds of ammunition — recovered during a day’s worth of work by LAPD’s Operation South Bureau.
Our officers will never stop the relentless pursuit of those who victimize our communities.
[Page 192]: “Our backup units hadn’t arrived, and we feared that Castillo would end up taking hostages. As we entered the market, people were running out in groups, some yelling and screaming, holding their children. I took the right side of the market and Bill went left…”
To honor their memory and heroism, 21 names will be added to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial Wall in Albany.
And last night, landmarks across NY lit up in red to honor New York's fallen firefighters, joining a national Light the Night tribute across the country.
How could one of the largest police departments in the United States step back and do nothing as an ex-con from the Aryan Brotherhood came after one of its own officers? THAT is the question, & it has a pretty simple answer...

Friends, here is your chance to suggest what actor you would like to play me in the L.A.'s Last Street Cop movie. My preferred choice is Michael Trevino. How about you?

I wrote a different kind of police memoir - my own story as a Latino cop from South-Central who repeatedly avoids lethal force and reports a corrupt commanding officer in 1970s Los Angeles, resulting in the LAPD stepping back when I am targeted for murder by a White Aryan ex-con.
Diversity is good, but not quotas. The force should absolutely reflect the community. When I joined the LAPD years ago I was one of the first persons of color hired, and proud of it!
