Kuwait awards the Al-Sumait Prize for African Development in the field of education to Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED). This is in recognition of their success in achieving a positive impact on at least 6.4 million children in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Malawi. It collaborated with a network of 7,000 public schools to boost outcomes for girls in Africa.
The prize was awarded at the meeting of its Board of Trustees, which was held at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences ( KFAS), the administrative arm for managing the award.
