Delhi Police say, "A class 6 student was allegedly sexually assaulted after her hands and legs were tied inside a shop in Delhi Sadar Bazar area. The girl had gone out to purchase stationery items when the incident allegedly took place. A case under relevant sections pertaining to rape, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and wrongful confinement was registered at the Women Police Station on the basis of the victim's complaint. The 56-year-old accused, identified as Maksud, was arrested on Friday in connection with the case. Further investigation is underway."

🚨JUST IN: A Pakistani carer on a student visa has been jailed for 12 years for raping a bedbound woman in Bristol. He told the jury she had assaulted him.

• Fazli Qadeer, 25, from Peshawar, came to study and worked as a carer.

• He went to the woman’s home on a shift after learning her family would be away, climbed onto her bed, said he loved her and wanted to marry her, then raped her.

• Defence said his cultural background meant he misread friendliness and that he later wrote an apology and disclosed childhood abuse. Recorder Sarah Regan said it was hard to see a motive other than that he did it because he could.
